Lauren - reading @cochise's post in this thread, I came to know that everything to him is black & white - no grey areas - there are grey areas in life and I am sure in this situation as well - we just don't know the full details of it - I just hope that they are able to settle this before the season starts - I love reading both sides point of view - again though I hope they sort it out quickly

As you know, Justin has been issued a notice of his pending deregistration and the Club has been issued a massive fine over an alleged failure to disclose an offer to become a Club ambassador after his career. Robbie has never signed the contract or received a single dollar from it and the fact that the Club was seeking to have him involved after his playing career has been public knowledge for years.

**The Commission that runs the game will be meeting this week and could decide the matter then - we need to let the leaders of the code know we want common sense and fairness to prevail.**

With the many challenges, controversies and scandals the NRL is repeatedly faced with it would be hypocritical to eliminate one the best and most respected administrators in the game over what seems, to myself and to many fans, to be a minor issue.

When so many accused and convicted abusers have been shown leniency it would be absurd to eliminate a truly ethical person like Justin from the game.

As the Mayor representing the Inner West of Sydney, one of the base communities of Wests Tigers, I frequently discuss the Club's progress with a wide variety of community members. The overwhelming feedback I get is that fans appreciate the way the Club has lifted its standards under Justin's leadership and greatly enhanced it's engagement with the community in particular.

I think it would be a devastating blow to Wests Tigers and to the rugby league community as a whole to have someone of Mr Pascoe's outstanding calibre removed from his position and barred from the code.

Please make your voice heard now and share this with other fans so we can get a fair result for our club.

That is 100% not true at all, I just believe that if there is a contract signed by the Tigers that offers a role to Farah then that looks dodgy.
 
This should of been decided in a couple of days , the club and the Ceo have either cheated or not , the NRL must of had enough evidence to prove there case from the start so what is the delay and why!
 
I would think that this would need to go to the commission for approval either way, though I would have thought the same for Ben Barba as well.

Theyre still investigating Cronulla's cap,Barbas case popped up, Napa issue. In fairness, they've been handed quite a bit to go through this summer.
 
Yea funny that - the one thing that was blatantly obvious ( Barba ) they finished in 5 minutes. Could it be Toddy wanted this gone immediately so the rubbish with Barba that went down at Canterbury when Toddy was CEO isn't looked at too hard and considering the Napa affair of punishing someone for something that happened 5 years ago Toddy might be a bit worried that he will be sanctioned for his actions at the time.
Cronulla's cap - ongoing for months even thought it was self reported. To date their only finding is the Flanagan contacted the club and was de registered. The longer they drag it out the less likely Cronulla are going to be hit too hard.
Napa - once again no brilliant investigative work by the NRL. The video which is 5 years old fell in to their laps. The outcome - a possible suspension for Napa which hurts him and Canterbury. No action taken against the rorters or players associated with that club when the video was taken. This is something that happened 5 years ago - so i assume the NRL is now feverishly going back the last 20 odd years to sanction other players and clubs for what has happened in the past.
Throw in the Inglis best friend reference for a drunk driving, salary cap cheating wife beater and you wonder why most on here think the NRL is corrupt. Of course there are the few NRL cheerleaders who think that they are doing a great job. Yea right.
 
Greenberg would be very concerned that his coverups at the dogs may resurface in the future.If he had done his job at the dogs like he should have Barba may have learnt something and not reoffended to the point of being banned.Certainly Barba is the person at fault for his appalling behaviour but appropriate action taken at the dogs may have changed his destiny.Sadly that firm action did not happen.
Greenberg is a disaster
 
When you say "That is 100% not true at all…", are you referring to Byrne's statement ? Byrne says "Robbie has never signed the contract......", which, I believe, the Tigers have said all along.

We don't know the details, but if Robbie has not signed the contract, and he has not agreed to the offer orally, or in writing, then I assume there is no deal.

If there is no deal, (or it can't be proved that there is a deal) can you still breach the salary cap?

I too am believing that Robbie hasn't signed a contract but if there is a contract sitting with his manager, or some other place that is signed by the Tigers then to me that looks extremely dodgy and I can understand the NRL coming to the conclusion that they have. Hopefully we can prove that Robbie decided to not take up the offer, but if we can't I can understand the punishment as it would look like we have a contract waiting for him in an attempt to skirt the salary cap.
 
You'r right the optics are not great. But the NRL can't ruin a man's career and sanction a club because they don't like the optics.

I don't think it is up to us to prove that Robbie did not take up the offer (how do you prove a negative?). It must be up to the NRL to prove that he has accepted an offer.

Therefore, the NRL must have concrete evidence that we have struck a deal with Robbie, either orally or in writing.

If they have no clear evidence, then they can't prove there is a deal and their sanctions are on shaky ground and could be challenged in court (I assume).

For the NRL to come out the way they did, I believe they must have a pretty strong faith in their evidence. It is up to us to prove we didn't break the rules as that is what a breach notice is, we have to show reason why we shouldn't have the proposed NRL sanctions applied to us.
 
How long does an unsigned contract remain valid?
If that contract is unsigned after two/three years then it is worth squat.

Not necassarily, what if the reason it is unsigned is for deniability in this exact situation?
 
Well that would suggest that Farah is lying about not agreeing to anything because he would know that and would be deliberately misleading the NRL as well.
