Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

I know(from media reports) that we have until the end of January to appeal, but that's about it. So does anyone on the forum actually know what occurs during that time?
I didn't realise how consuming this will/could be for the club. I actually remember Manly's case in the news - of how they were handed their sanctions in March yet the appeals process didn't recommence until Sep/Oct(?).

We currently have no CEO. Have been handed financial penalties that will affect our cap. Then on top we're already dealing with the likelihood of losing MCK and Musgrove.
I know this may sound impatient but I honestly just hate this feeling of so much uncertainty.

Club is probably getting their ducks in a row and preparing to issue an appeal. May as well take as much time as necessary to work out their case.

If we remain at total odds difference in the events as described by the club vS the NRL account,we can only appeal. As I've said earlier because the NRL is the judge, jury and executioner, I'd take my appeal to the courts as their impartiality is known, the NRL is not. To appeal to the NRL, we would have to accept their statements as to our intentions and events, and to date WT public version and statements do not match at all NRL contention.

Greg Inglis has announced he will retire at the end of 2020\. He stated he will take up a position with the club at the end of 2020\. How does Greg know there will be a position for him at that time? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Has his job been included in the salary cap? Has clearance been granted by the NRL or is it another case of preferential treatment, which he is often the recipient of.

No, the question was has clearance been granted which is a fair question that the NRL need to answer.

Maloney comes out and openly refers to the club sorting TPAs for him, which is ignored by the NRL, yet the NRL pins us for something we were open about years ago. Considering the trouble Inglis has been in in the past with playing under two contracts, bringing the game into disrepute with domestic violence, now speeding and driving under the influence after leaving a community event where he was representing the NRL, and from that he gets a character reference from the NRL CEO…. now he openly comes out and says something which got us in hot water...

The NRL needs to come out and show their non-bias (if they are non-biased), as their character and reputation has come under massive scrutiny. They need to show whatever role Inglis is being offered is done within the cap.

You do not know that the NRL ignored what Maloney said, you have absolutely nothing to back that up. It is not the NRL's job to release details on every deal they approve every investigation they make.

I would guess in the current climate they would have been sure to get it approved by the NRL. Offering him a role when announcing his retirement, at the completion of his current contract, is very different to what the Tigers have done.

I do know that the NRL did not publicly address that matter. Of course I don't know what happened behind close doors. As I said, the reputation of the NRL has taken a considerable hit recently, and if they want to rebuild the faith that people have lost in them, they need to be transparent in their actions. Especially now, they _do_ need to publicly address such perceived acts of bias.

If it is an act of bias then the question will be raised, by the Tigers or the media. Offer Inglis a role when he is announcing his retirement, at the completion of his current contract, is very different to what the Tigers have done.

Why would they publicly address the matter if they investigated and found that the Panthers had not broken any rules?

The NRL under Greenburg is a farce like the Labor party. Self absorbed and panders to minorities

The CEO at the NRL is just a foot solider for a few big players (not footballers). It really would not matter who was in charge. The NRL is a dictatorship and most clubs except a few have any say in how things work or are done. The game will be dead in a decade if the self interest groups are not disbanded

I can't imagine any clearance would be given prior to a full investigation by the NRL in to the alleged position he will take up and whether there has been any impact on their cap. Can't see they would have done that in the 5 minutes or so since his announcement. And if they have given a clearance they should notify the media that a clearance has been given considering the hoohaa they made of us. Maybe they can arrange a testimonial game for him and Cam when they play Melbourne.

This is correct. All the hate for Greenburg is a waste of energy. He is not the problem, he is just their puppet.

Your nothing but an NRL apologist - it really is quite boring how you think everything they do is totally correct and above reproach.

I definately don't think that, but I'm not going around thinking the Tigers did no wrong just because I support the club.

The Tigers offered Farah a very very lucrative role after football, for some reason they did not disclose that information to the NRL, which was all they needed to do and infact hid the contract from the NRL.

Why would they do that? really the options are.
1\. They made a huge mistake and accidentally broke the rules.

2\. The role after football was an inducement for Farah to leave, which needs to be included in the cap.

3\. The role was to compensate for a lost TPA, which needs to be included in the cap.

4\. The role was an inducement to have Farah return to the club at a future date, which needs to be included in the cap.

Now Greg Inglis announces his retirement and states he will work at the club when he finishes playing, that does not mean that the Rabbits have broken any rules as you can seek approval for after football roles. The Tigers are in trouble because they didn't seek approval.

Now if it turns out that there is no contract, then the NRL have messed up and that will be put forward by the Tigers when they present their case.

It's not about what we did or did not do. It's about how the NRL is dealing with us, compared to how they deal with other clubs. That's what is so frustrating.
