Pascoe sanctioned by the NRL

The only way we can be pinging is the the money for the role was in lieu of money to be received in 2016 under his existing NRL contract nothing to do with offering a job post footy which a lot of Clubs do..if we have we are dumb as dog poo..

Considering we still chipped in something like 700k for his salary at Souths it doesn't appear to be in lieu of anything.

The NRL could perhaps argue that we are getting the benefit now, that Robbie Farah returned on a reduced contract due to the fact he has a commitment of a job after football?

If another club was accused of this, half the forum would be calling for bans and massive fines. I agree it seems rather trivial but we have to cop what they serve up and move on. Although it has to be noted this was a mistake it was not a pre meditated fiddle of the cap. Let’s hope the NRL apply some common sense

So the financial auditors find a money trail from Brisbane’s leagues club to the football club and players, and because one official resigned they cannot prove anything and close the case.

Meanwhile a potential offer that has no evidence of ever being accepted is grounds for fines and punishment.

The fact that this was reported in the media 3 years ago, but is only being acted on now and that the NRL has never caught anyone cheating the cap, but relied on self reporting and disgruntled employees shows what an incompetent organisation it actually is.

Not sure about that. This is from all the reports a waste of time. No contract has been signed so not sure what they have got.

Farah was at South's where he was most likely going to retire. Only Ivan brought him back because Farah wanted to play first grade for the Tigers.

If this scenario happened at another team I'd still be annoyed. We wouldn't of gone over the cap even if this contract was in place.

Just seems to me like the NRL goes after a select few clubs. Can you imagine them going after the broncos?

Well said. They couldn't find a root in a brothel at the moment..

If a cap fine is implemented, do we think it'll be for 2019 or 2020 season?

So Robbie gets offered $250000 to come back and play with the Tigers
That is all we believe you are worth in today's market
Robbie cant get a better offer so he decides to re sign with the tigers for $250000
Did any other club offer more
And even if they did it means nothing
Roosters sign all their players for unders

Now once your career finishes Robbie we would like you in an ambassador roll for the club
Would you be interested
Yeh sure that would be great

Was there mention of Gallen working for the sharks after he retires
What about Langer at the Broncos
How far do you want to go back
It's an absolute joke

If the nrl ping us for this I will never attend another game
I will Just watch on TV or listen to on the ABC until they get serious with the obvious serial offenders instead of screwing the less competitive clubs

I'd get ready for not attending games then, offering post career jobs has been included in the cap for a long time.

Yep
Darren Lockyer on the Board of directors for the Broncos
Melbourne has
Ryan Hinchcliffe - Development Coach
Billy Slater - Specialist Coach
Robbie Kearns - Business Development Manager
Ryan Hoffman - Football Administration Coordinator
Just to name a few
But these are all above board so nothing will come of it

Because those clubs weren't stupid enough to go mentioning they were prearranged in article after article for 3 years.

This! We talked about it. We have been caught braking the rules, chuck as much mud at the roosters as you want but uncle nick doesn't go around saying how he does it.
We have been caught braking the rules. If our only defense is: everyone does it….they have to make an example of us. Otherwise it's a free for all...

I sincerely hope that the club just doesn’t take this on the chin but instead fights the NRL with every legal avenue open to them. I feel that will be the only way we will ever be taken seriously by the NRL.

They will. Are the NRL’s patsies.

Independent directors- check
Play out of somebody else’s stadium to support policy - check
Move games away from your fans because of criticism of country support - check
Constantly cop bad refereeing decisions and don’t back your coach to speak out - check

If we were anymore subservient to the NRL we would be talking relocations

This proves to me that the NRL are a joke.

Toothless and impotent.

No balls to go after the roosters and the other clubs so clearly rorting.

To.say.I'm agro is the understatement of 2018

Or are these clubs just doing it so well it can't be proven? Seriously we said this in the media nearly 3 years ago…we should have been caught as soon as we re-signed farah

This is about where i am at with this. Have a good think about that fact above. Apply it to this case and we might just dealing with the NRL going through the motions ans showing due diligence following an official complaint from a former employer

A disgruntled former employer, i wonder who that could be?

Not hard to line up some names is it.

I know who you mean, surely if an now ex coach didn't re-sign Farah this would not be a problem. And I think re-signing him for more than a few months. Obviously it's only become a problem since he signed for next season…not as an emergency this year.

Yep.
I can see why this rules in place.
I can also.imagine the forum had the chooks. Done the same. For sbw

Look
It's ok that the Roosters pay every player significantly less then what other clubs would pay them
Because what the Roosters pay them happens to be exactly what the NRL thinks they are worth
It doesnt matter if another club offers more
What roosters dont put on the books can be made up of 3rd party payments or what's in the brown paper bag
That way everything is fair and above board
Now Tigers you have been very Naughty
You paid Robbie Farah $700000 out of you cap and allowed him to join souths
You then sign him back for $250000 when he is almost past his used by date and tell him when he is retired that you would like him to come and work in the club because he is a life long member
Now that is just not on because you are the tigers not the Roosters
Not the Broncos
And certainly not the Storm
Now on your way naughty tigers
Go back and stand in the corner
We have a Competition of heavy weights to run
I said Buzz off

Why would we need a former employee to blow the whistle when we have been talking about it for 3 years? If we shut our mouths it would have probably never came up.

I explained this within the post.

"NRL going through the motions and showing due diligence following an official complaint"
