Unless you have footage or audio of conversations of higher ups at the NRL, plotting to keep the poorer clubs down, it’s a baseless. It’s taking the “whoa is us, feel sorry for us” rubbish to extremes that I thought even this forum was beyond.

If, and its a very big if, relocation was the agenda then WT are their own worst enemy. The stupid 5 home ground merry go round year after year makes it hard to argue that you're a settled club with strong roots in the community. The sooner this club stops trying to appease everyone and picks one ground as its home ground the stronger it will be. With one home ground and a solid financial setup there is no way WT would be relocated. Also this isn't an L oval vs C vs WSS - just pick one and play 12 games a year there.

On the other hand.
The ability to operate a club, increase membership garner community support, turn a profit without having a solid base all indicates we’d be the perfect candidate to start it all again at another location.
Just sack a CEO that doesn’t want to move. Hire a coach that was happy to live in Brisbane and walla, you have the makings of semi relocated club.

Having been a long time strong follower of Newtown RL club until they were unceremoniously booted out of the competition I converted to become an ardent Western Suburbs RL club follower. When Western Suburbs were booted out of the comp I turned my allegiance to West Tigers. Believe me, I am starting to feel a sense of deja vu all over again. My only advice to Wests Tigers followers is not to stand for NRL decisions such as club relocation or club demise which are only aimed at boosting the coffers of the NRL at the expense of true rugby league followers.

He said he has been given some inside info and curiously there is an attempt to discredit Marina Go. All seems a bit pointed towards two of our figures at the club for my liking. Is TG a bit insecure about his position?

Full commitment and relocation to SW Sydney and perhaps in partnership (and/or strong relationship) with the new WS football franchise is the only way we can ensure our that our NRL remains in Sydney.

It’s obvious that NRL hierarchy does not like or support what Go, Pascoe and West Ashfield are trying to cement at Concord and our multi stadiums approach to our playing existence.

So until we bite the bullet on that front we will remain a very big target for enforced relocation .

Insofar as the current situation regarding the penalties and Pascoe suspension-deregistration ….. I can see no value in pushing too hard on that front. Our best and best value approach is to say we have examined the details, we accept that yes in accordance to strict rules in relation to Cap reporting of post playing employment We and our CEO Have Made a honest Mistake! And we will get a reduced (suspended) penalty both in $s and the 2019 Salary Cap.

I’m afraid that Justin Pascoe will need to deal with his error of judgement. He definitely is not emerging as smelling of roses and the more you read about this from the people who should know better than the average Joe, he did the wrong thing and tried to bend the rules and mislead the NRL investigation and the WT Board (via non disclosure) ...... so ...... sorry I like him and what he did for WT ...... but we can’t take a fall for this. The fact that Greenberg and the NRL audit team was successful in getting approval from the NRL Board to proceed with the sanctions to our Club tell a story.

So Pascoe should plead his case with support from WT management and we’ll see how it goes. But any attempt to circumnavigate the NRL appeals process with a Civil Court action should be avoided at this stage of the game.

And yes I don’t have any confidence in the current NRL Chairman and CEO and have added my name to the current no confidence survey. But that is a separate issue.

I feel for you and feel the same. Followed RL in good faith in the 70s saw my team get rorted out of premiership kicked out moved merged. Also saw other goid club's suffer same. No more excuses for this sport. It must serve us or it has to go. Probably rare for another sport world wide to go through so much change.
We as customers don't just exist to make the NRL money. They need to stop serving us crap.

Additionally does that also mean that Farah also receives his ambassadorial payments up front in 2019 from this money??

Assuming the NRL is only concerned with how the agreement affects the salary cap surely this could be the only reasonable outcome right!!

I can’t see how he’d be getting paid. He was effectively stood down.

Cheers for that I wasn’t aware that was an option, still a ridiculous penalty I think but at least that would provide some relief.

And can Weidler explain why Pasco has been placed in isolation? That seems to me a disgrace.

Without knowing the full story ….. and i am sure their are few on here that do, I really don't think the Tigers should be taking advice from a journo, If WTs believe what they have publicly stated and there has been no monies traded between the club and the recipient than its nothing more than speculation.
Where is the money?
Has the advantage been gained over an opposition?
Was their other clubs lining up to sign Farah for a post playing career role?
Has Pascoe and Go raided the market with the this so called advantage?
These are the reasons they need to fight Greenberg and the NRL, To be delegated a sentence without a justification or a realistic chance to prove innocence, where does that leave anybody(Clubs)financially invested in the game of rugby league.
If this is a genuine mistake and not a direct cap rort then the Tigers should fight it......Our major sponsors are Brydens Laywers....Get some of those guys involved and take it all the way.
If every team just folds whenever the NRL hands down a punishment it will become a monopoly.

To quote Midnight Oil, "Sometimes you've got to take the hardest line".

Greenberg's an individual under immense pressure in an effort to appear to be in control has absolutely blotched this cap issue with the Tigers. From my experience of following the game if the penalty handed out to the Tigers is the correct one then this must be one the most serious case of rorting the salary cap ever.

The key issue now is the INTEGRITY of the NRL and its SALARY CAP. Is it a level playing field for all 16 teams? If it is termed above board we become a major casualty, but if it is deemed not then we become heroes for the sides that do abide by it.

It is just terribly unfortunate that we are caught in the middle.

This is why the Tigers have to go to court, it is not only about us, it is about whether there is a long-term future for the game regardless of the outcome.
NRL journalists opinions on our situation are pointless they all have vested interests.

Everything in life has an end, the NRL with its current leadership is well on the way to reaching its end. The AFL through strong leadership continues to prosper the NRL continues to be engulfed in the mire because of non-existent leadership.
