If we don’t take advantage of the two good signings by putting more quality around them next year the cycle of mediocrity will not end. Next few months are crucial for WT recruitment, praying for some luck 🍀Can’t remember where I posted it, so I’ll just post it again. On one hand, I can see it as a very real possibility that Pap wants to backflip. Playing in one of the form sides of the comp who look on track for another top 4 finish, facing the prospect of going to a club that has nothing going for them. The only plus is that players usually only backflip to stay at their current clubs, and to do that, he’d have to take considerably less than what he will make with us to stay at Parra. They might only be able to pay him what he’s already on which by all reports is only 200k. I can’t see us freeing him from the contract to take up a deal at the Roosters for example. Players don’t usually renege to sign with another club besides the one they are leaving.
As much of a blow as it would be for him to not come, he actually won’t change our fortunes on his own. At best, he will just be another marquee forward at an average club. And their are plenty of those around, i.e Fifita at the Titans, Haas at the Broncos, Lolo at the Cows Api is in great form but his age is a slight concern, plus the possibility he could always come and half arse it. But he is significantly better than what we already have, so Api half arsing it is still an improvement.
We are a very loser clubSo Mahoney, Kikau Bromwich Bros Kafusi who are going elsewhere next year all want to backflip to and stay with stronger Clubs..don’t think so.. it is a very loser mindset..
Pretty sure NRL doesn’t allow backflipping anymore once you sign the contract that’s it nowCan’t remember where I posted it, so I’ll just post it again. Id be surprised if that was the casePretty sure NRL doesn’t allow backflipping anymore once you sign the contract that’s it now
Think clubs were over players backflipping I think the one that made the NRL stop allowing backflipping was DCE backflipping to stay at Manly rather than head to the Titans can’t remember a backflip since that one tbhId be surprised if that was the case
There’s literally been about three guys force their way out of tigers contracts since. Kick stones and we pack your bags for you.Think clubs were over players backflipping I think the one that made the NRL stop allowing backflipping was DCE backflipping to stay at Manly rather than head to the Titans can’t remember a backflip since that one tbh
I wouldn't say the dolphins have nothing going for them.So Mahoney, Kikau Bromwich Bros Kafusi who are going elsewhere next year all want to backflip to and stay with stronger Clubs..don’t think so.. it is a very loser mindset..
There was a crazy amount of time to previously change your mind and sign an alternate deal - After the Tedesco and DCE fiascos... That is now gone.Id be surprised if that was the case
No but the haven't even played a game v leaving the Storm bubble..I wouldn't say the dolphins have nothing going for them.

Put Papalii in our team the first 5 rounds and we've probably won 3 games.... Definitely 2 - And we're only getting stronger. Can’t remember where I posted it, so I’ll just post it again. I think Pap will tear us a new arsehole on Monday.Put Papalii in our team the first 5 rounds and we've probably won 3 games.... Definitely 2 - And we're only getting stronger.
Api's game and the stuff he orchestrated on his own last night show what a great choice he is..
Brooks $1.1m dollar deal is the stumbling block. It will be a huge test of WT stomach if one of our prized recruits say they don’t want to wear a WT Jersey. Ala garlic sauceHaven't most been whinging we didn't let Brooks out of his contract despite reportedly repeated requests for a release?
If we didn't let Brooks go (Twice) When we have ready replacements - Why would we now be letting our 2 best signings in the last decade out?
No one left for the same money...Brooks $1.1m dollar deal is the stumbling block. It will be a huge test of WT stomach if one of our prized recruits say they don’t want to wear a WT Jersey. Ala garlic sauce
I mean will we force Papali’i or Api to honour their contract if they try to backflip. We haven’t had the guts in the past.No one left for the same money...
I know what you meant man...I mean will we force Papali’i or Api to honour their contract if they try to backflip. We haven’t had the guts in the past.
What is the true value of playing in a much stronger team though? Prolonged career and less of a reliance on a small number of senior players has to have big appeal.I know what you meant man...
But everyone that left had 1-200k more reasons to leave...
