Pascoe

There are many jobs that have periods when employees aren’t able to take leave due to it being their busy season etc.
Nobody is saying he can’t have holidays, what I am saying is that I don’t believe it is appropriate for him to take them during the NRL playing season. There is ample time to holiday in the off season. Players can’t just go on holidays during the season (although it does appear like they are on a fun filled frolic). Good club culture starts at the top and to have a CEO just trot off on holidays while the club is a mess is just a bad look.
It is also not the first time his holidays have been put ahead of club business.

That's what off-season is ment for
You mean when recruitment and planning is in full swing.

It would be easier to point fingers if the club would define the roles and responsibilities of the people involved in this dog’s breakfast of an organisation.

If he is responsible for the business side of the club, who cares. If he has responsibilities regarding football performance and recruitment, then it is poor form.

I blame Madge for the team’s performance but reckon Sheens’ fingerprints are all over this season

It would appear our recruitment and planning is done in 15 minutes

Whatever you think of his performance and personally i think he has done a great job with the business side but the footy side has struggled although i do think that isnt so much his role in the way our organisation has been set up and he has brought in 2 good coaches and now Sheens which are all good decisions at the time

I have absolutely no issue with him taking holidays. Everyone takes leave and during the early part of the season actually seems the right time for a ceo to take them. Sponsors are on board, members mostly the same, limited negotiation needed, prob the slowest period espcially given multiple public holidays and its also school holidays - assume he has kids . Also this year most destinations including NT were locked down over the last holidays and most of last 2 years. Id also imagine like most white collar workers including myself he can work from anywhere including Darwin - im working from a small country town while holidaying mtself over these 2 weeks.
His last holiday cost us JAC.

I've got no problem with him taking a break, it's just that I thought his leave balance was actually in deficit after the 6 months leave he was awarded for the work he did on the Robbie Farah Ambassadorship, not to mention the 2 years of Salary Cap variations he negotiated for the club.

It’s a poor look at this stage of the season. The CEO should be available especially given the poor results and the added scrutiny on the club.

This lax attitude is seeping into the club. The CEO needs to set the standards and the dribble coming from Pascoe and the board at the end of last year about the CEO not being responsible for the football department was a load of crap. It shows a lack of accountability.

The club needs better leaders on and off the field.

Better he takes a break now because the next few months are going to be full on.

Him being on holidays right now is a bad look but his presence isn’t going to change squat with how our team is coached, selected or playing game in game out.

Guys, he has done his job. His sold out all our jersey, shorts, socks, hats sponsorship for the next 3 years.
He deserves a hard earned break from being the face of the club.
That’s why he appointed Sheens in the PR role.

Not a good look at all. For the CEO of such a struggling organisation and one that is basically in turnoil to go on a holiday is BS I say. No wonder we are in such a mess. Don't give me any crap about about him having the right to go on annual leave or that the performances don't fall on him. He is the boss of the team coming last in the comp, earns a shite load of money and if I was a sponsor I'd be pulling my money out now.
