in that era a concrete crew for a rich inner suburb council ,would scrounge stuff from kerbside clean up.Boss man had a huge shed were it got stored.Rich folk used 2 /may still throw out last years model electrical appliances n still have no idea how 2 clean a spark plug - anyway ,.The crews engagements, weddings, divorce party's.. Family functions were scheduled n voted on (most worthy) . All selling crap on the net .What was the name of that newspaper that came out on Wednesday ? The ClassifiedsWhen I worked on the rubbish runs for Marrickville Council back in 1999 to 2001 the amount of good quality stuff thrown out by people amazed me.
From perfectly fine furniture to a mini piano in perfect condition to several guitars, brand new car parts still in boxes even tools.
The weirdest find we ever had was 2 Otto bins (in a lane behind businesses) were full of a variety of commercially produced porn videos.
We sold them off to the rest of the guys back at the yard for $10 each and had beer money for weeks.
