How Tim Johannson go? Can play back row or prop i believe.

He put up a shocking bomb in the first half. But the whole team was a rabble with special mention to TDS and Laulilii who were beyond awful. I don't get the TDS hype. Aside from speed, he doesn't have any of the other attributes of a good hoker. Laulilii is another one dimensional player. He runs hard but today he was ineffectual in attack and woeful in defence, under the high ball and positionally.

We improved a lot in the second half even though Latu was rested and we were running into a gale. The big fella Miller had his best game in KOE, denting the line with every carry and scoring a try. Feledy scored a deserved double. He has excellent awareness and is a real threat close to the line. Unfortunately though he will struggle to ever make it in the NRL given his lack of height and speed.

did we win
Similar score to first grade and same result. Magpies absolutely terrible first half but looked a lot better in the second half, but maybe the Jets took the foot of the pedal.

Miller was our best, Naden had a dig from fullback in the second half. Our edge defence was park Football standard.

Highlight, beers are cheap, food is good and only ten bucks for an old bloke to walk through the gates. Always enjoy a trip to Henson Park

I went to this game. We were awful. We started our best team all year and stunk the joint up. You would not promote one of these players to NRL. If I had to pick a best player it was probably Naden but he was the best of a bad lot. Anyone who thinks Jordan Miller is a player of the future., forget it - he's crap.
New coach needed too. Five runs one off the ruck and then kick. I can coach that.

The jury is out on whether or not Jordan Miller will ever get himself fit enough to be a a regular NRL player, but I thought he played very well today, what did you not like about how he played today ?

Miller had a really good game. 13 runs for 133m and bagged a try. He was sound in defence as well.

When he first started in KOE, his fitness was well below standard but yesterday he managed 40 mins.

I agree about the one dimensional attack. Last week Wests took 33 minutes to pass the ball two wide of the ruck. It doesn't help that the spine changes every week with guys playing out of position like Casey and Naden, but poor coaching is also a big contributing factor. Payne should be moved on next season.

Hardest gig in town being a KOE coach. You get players coming up and down all week, half them are dirty because they have been dropped. You’re told the way by the club the style they want you to to adopt. Your on a hiding to nothing

Yeah I remember Benji saying at the start of the year that they wanted the style to filter down through all the grades. I get the feeling we will be a lot more expansive from 2025 onwards in all grades. Benji and co surely realise that we have looked best when we go away from one out hit ups and a kick.

I might be being tough on Miller. I just expect a player with NRL potential to show out more at this level. He tried hard but didn't seem to dent the opposition but I respect your opinion.

I just thought he took the ball up but didn't threaten the line that much. Others on the forum disagree with me re Miller's game yesterday so maybe I'm being too hard on him. I can't blame the alcohol because I only had a few after the game at the General Gordon.

The way I saw it Miller had very little help in any other forwards penetrating the Jets defence, they saw him as the main danger and got plenty of numbers into the tackle every time he ran the ball. Also not forgetting the Jets had Toby Rudolf and Braden Hamlin-Uele and Jesse Colquahoun who are all genuine NRL middle forwards.
For us Reuben Porter is a good honest toiler who is really better suited on an edge and Tim Johsnssen is emerging very well, but he is also more of a toiler than an impact prop who can scatter defenders.
I can picture how Miller’s ball running could become a dominant force and also help improve the effectiveness of Stefano if he stays as well as the emerging Pole etc
