I couldn’t make it today, but the NSWRL website says Vaka Aho started with Johanssen and Miller and Josh Finau were off the bench.
Tasipale looks to have gone on in the 2nd half and scored a try.
He scored a few tries when playing for Newtown last season, seems to be quite mobile for a back rower. He could be one to keep an eye on.
I hope he is a mobile 2nd rower. At 188cm and 106kgs - 24 yrs. he can play along side S. Fainu next week.

Mason looked very sharp at fullback. He came off late in the game with Naden moving from wing to fullback. Not sure whether he was injured or got an early mark.

To'a rinsed his opposing centre in a very classy performance. He made a line break with his first touch, broke a heap of tackles, scored two tries and set up another.

Sullivan starred in attack. While he's known for his running game, it was his passing which really impressed. He was causing the Roosters edges grief, especially in the second half.

Sullivan, To'a and Mason were the standouts but the whole team was on song aside from Naden who was out-of-sorts.

Fainu managed about 55 mins. It was a better outing than last week but I wouldn't be rushing him back to the NRL team, he's still finding his feet.

Johannssen and Aho started. I didn't notice much from Aho but Johannssen was strong. He got belted a few times but it didn't deter him.

Miller came on around the 30 min mark and played out the game. His fitness is much improved. He's still running too upright but because it takes multiple defenders to wrap him up, it often means the next play is against a staggered defensive line.

My only criticism of his performance is that he tried the crash ball about 5 times to no avail, but that's on the hooker.

Great insight thank you.
Any thoughts on Feledy and Alaimalo TV Ted ?
In your opinion do you believe To’a is a better centre or winger and do you think he is a good option for our NRL team moving forward ?
Similar with Sullivan, how do you compare him as a potential halves partner option for Luai in comparison to Galvin and Latu Fainu ? If Sullivan cannot fit in our NRL starting line up for 2025, would you play him as our number 14, or do you think Latu Fainu or Sezer would be better suited to that role ?

refreshing change to hear something positive about this team

Needs to play 7 next week. Sezer can cover hooker and lock from the bench
Lol, he's 3-4 weeks from first grade. He has been so awful in first grade, he needs to demonstrate the ability to dominate NSW cup on a weekly basis, backing up with strong consistent performances. Then, and only then, can he be promoted.

For too long one good game gets a promotion. Players aren't made to work hard and perform consistently to get ahead. We can't help injury replacements but form needs to last longer than a week

Players need to earn first grade. This includes dropping Stef and Douiehi to NSW cup.

….and Galvin? He didn’t earn it, hasn’t set the comp on fire, 3 wins from 14 digs. Runs the worst attack in the comp.
If it’s good for the goose, or geese, what about the gander?

if we put in scores like this the majority of times, that would b worth getting excited about.any win is a win tho right

I'm promising him more on how bad Sezer was. That's how low we are

Feledy scored his customary try but was relatively quiet otherwise. When To'a came on after 20 mins, the attack was all down To'a's side who was running riot against the hapless Roosters' defence.

Alaimalo was very strong in the air and ran with more vigour than usual. He redeemed himself after his diabolical last start against Penrith, but I can't stress enough how hopeless the Roosters were. Outside of Sandon Smith, they were Jim Beam standard.

Sullivan was sublime in attack. If he were to go to the Super League, he could have the same impact as Bevan French. But I doubt he'll ever be a first choice half in the NRL. Aside from his defensive frailties and confidence issues, his long kicking game is subpar. Luckily from him yesterday just about every kick was from over the 50m line.

He's been one of our best every week since returning from suspension. No one expected him to be our star player on a weekly basis, he's allowed to have an off game. He tries more than 90% of the squad, and has been performing pretty well overall. There is zero chance he's not in the seven next week.

The Roosters cup team played like our NRL team - they were horrible with zero intensity. They got a similar outcome and made our guys look good. The test is when the opposition makes it hard and you have to dig deep and every player has to perform at 110%.
I’m not convinced about any player from that performance other than i’d give Toa and Alaimalo another chance in the top grade.

More suited to 9 these days.

It is important to note how poor the opposition were. They'd seemingly promoted a number of their gun juniors who maybe aren't physically ready for senior footy yet.
Likewise just because a team beat us previously doesn't mean they're doing well, we have just been abysmal in this grade, again.

Salad had a rough game in a team that got smashed and playing behind a prop who doesn’t seem interested. I don’t see Bud doing any better just bcoz he had one good game against a bottom four reserve grade side.
As you said before Bud needs weeks of consistently dominating regys, and actually unseat the NRL 7 through good play of his own, not get the call up bcoz the current NRL 7 had a bad game.
It’s might be considered a crazy strategy for the Tigers, but rewarding due to good performance is always better than rewarding due to poor performance.
