Well done to the boys for bridging an 18-point deficit and then 14-point deficit in the 2nd half.

Firstly, our regular NRL players Naden, Staines & Hunt showed their class, all 3 playing big roles.

TDS is too good for this level but his time playing Cup will be invaluable for his development. We looked a much better team with TDS at dummy half than Hope, who I must say was pretty poor except for our try-scoring passage just after HT.

In the forwards I thought Jaxson Rahme was immense, and both Peter Taateo & Kit Laulilii were impactful when on. Taateo is very strong in contact in D too but one poor effort in 1st half with El Zakhem contributed to a try. El Zakhem was rocks & diamonds. Yep @jrtiger you are right about his defence but his ability to offload is exceptional.

In the backs, Falls was very average today I thought, Mapapalangi was solid on both sides of the ball without standing out but the two standouts were Izaak Tuitupou & Luke Laulilii. Tuitupou will make an ideal left wing backup for us while Laulilii pops up everywhere, strong in his carries and showed very good ball skills.

5 - Tuitupou
4 - Rahme
3 - Laulilii
2 - TDS
1 - Naden

He is the best edge currently on the team … even in current form …

We know what he is capable of watching him last year … do you think that’s gone for good? Maybe work to get it back instead of giving up on it
I believe Sam Fainu is good enough to play for NSW as a middle, I don’t think he can do that if he stays on an edge.
As you said he’s currently our best and only decent edge back rower, hence the reason we have bought KPP, but we need more than just KPP,
Anyway back to the NSW Cup thread, the team played with grit and deserved to win, it was pleasing to watch.
Very impressed with TDS despite his costly dropped ball near the end others have mentioned Taateo continues to show plenty of promise and Luke Kaulilli was very good.
Do we look at bringing Naden back at left centre for our NRL team next game ? Maybe Staines or Laulilli on our right wing with Turuva to left centre ?

There is no way they can keep Faatape.just seems to go backs each week i see him. play.
I would try him as an edge back rower.
I know that sounds silly when he misses his fair share of tackles as a centre, but he’s a powerful ball runner and it seems most of his missed tackles are from struggling to get his body in front them, which would not happen as often if defending closer to the middle.

How about left right out... back to QCup
