Good assessment all of the above.

Our Cup & Flegg teams seemed to have turned a massive corner about 4-5 weeks ago. Maybe Richo read the riot act.

Today Kit Laulilii was a man possessed, the best game I've seen especially with his runs in NSW Cup so far. And I particularly liked a moment late in the game, Tallyn put a massive tackle on a Manly forward that forced an error, Matt Lodge ran in to shove TDS and Kit got in Lodge's face to protect his teammate.

Staines was MOM and Tu'itupou was once again massive with his runs & solid in defence too.

Charlie Murray set up a couple of tries and looked to take great confidence from his stint in the NRL. Murray, Kit, TDS & Rahme were the pick of our forwards and Taateo was also strong during his stint - good leg drive & contact in defence.

Mapapalangi showed his class in the last 10 mins putting Tuitupou away down the wing & backing up to score, then putting through a grubber for Feledy to score. He had some nice touches throughout. I agree with Rusty's mate, he'd be a very good left centre.

Falls was falls good whilst Lobb looked pretty good at fullback surprisingly, only Cup level good though.

Big game against the 2nd placed Dragons next week!!!

Did Staines end up at fullback. Great to see a couple of pathways teams get one over Manly. Where is Onitoni Large??

I was going to add that El Zakhem needs to be more selective with his offloads. It's an uncanny ability he has and many times they produce a positive result but some times (especially today) they produce an error. I'd say he, Luke Jack, Royce Hunt & Faataape were probably our poorest today. Manly got on a roll early (first 10-15 mins) when they often had Hunt on the back foot in defence.

KMapz is something special, I swear.

It's no surprise this team has improved since adding a few players who are on the cusp of first grade.

I'm a big fan of the Lualilii brothers.
Good to see them both doing well.

Time to lock up the Laulilii's long term! Don't let them see November 1 as free agents....they will have plenty of suitors. Both are showing huge improvements this year. Exciting to see players getting better at our club and not going the other way!

Kitt will be something special.
A lot to like about his game and still developing.

Think he could be a real impact bench player for us, offering a lot more than the likes of some other options.

And Luke... he's going to be a weapon too.

Kit was outstanding, that’s the type of game I’ve been wanting to see from him.
I admit I was critical and doubted his ability at the start of the season, but the way he played today and the way he spoke last week has changed my mind on him.
He clearly loves the club, is grateful and works hard, that’s a good combination.

I'm with you on KMapz. Good mates with Starford too & seems to be a popular member of the club based on Instagram posts lol
Hi BWG . love your intel , thanks. In your mind what's caused the influx of lower grades winning of late. .4me ,nothing sinks in if its not printed on paper. Change of coach , kids stepping up, kids stepping down. Richo basically said when he got here, 1st up, all grades needed to be fixed. SG or Flegg players in their slot instead of 1sts has to be good. Team culture under Richo / Benji starting to bed in ?. Interested in your thoughts /or anybody else's . Callaway just left the building ,is it as simple as changing him out ?. time line fits

I think Faatape is improving and is become an extremely strong ball runner.
I know his defence is still very suspect, but I liken him to Junior Pauga who also come to us from the Q Cup at an older age and went on to becomes very valuable squad member at the Roosters after we let him go.
I think if we let Faatape go he will pick up a top 30 contract elsewhere and be a valuable back up outside back, so I would be keeping him with us a bit longer on a low tier top 30 contract.

Not sure @Merlot it seems a line was drawn in the sand after our losses to Penrith in both Cup & Flegg (May 9/10).

Flegg then had a coaching staff upheaval which has worked wonders. They also addressed a lack of size & physicality in the pack with Elijah Mataale, Shaq Tavita into the middle rotation & transition of Solo Saukuru to backrow.

A few things I’ve noticed in Cup in that time is Kurt Falls becoming a more dominant game manager for us, Mapapalangi moving to 5/8, both Jaxson Rahme and Tu’itupou have really upped their output & impact and Peter Taateo has signed on bringing impact & line speed in both A & D.

Yeah he is a good ball runner & finisher but he still is suspect in defence especially 1-on-1. I get nervous when the ball heads to his side in defence.

It’ll be interesting what we do with him as there will be a few fighting for outside back depth spots in our roster and some of it may come down to value (Naden, Staines, Feledy, KMapz, Lobb, Tuitupou, Doeuihi, maybe even a Tavana).
