I agree.

Starford Toa
Taylan May
Heamasi Makasini
Krystian Mapapalangi

Definitely need some back up options for 2026, not Naden calibre though.
To’a has proven to be injury prone and we are not yet sure if Taylan May will return to his best form, Mapapalangi is showing signs of being a very good versatile low cost back up, but Makasini has not yet played above u/19’s level, so no guarantee he will be ready for NRL next season.
This being the case we need at least one more NRL centre option, we just need to work out if we target a big name, or an emerging or lesser known player as more of a gamble that it will work.
I know it’s been reported that Jojo Fifita is re-signing with the Titans, but I have not yet seen it confirmed and I’d be making every effort to try and sign him before it’s too late.

Hunt is either busted or heading to the retirement gate fast.
Why not both? 🤷‍♂️

I don’t reckon it’ll take much for him to click into retirement mode, he was there before we came knocking.
Used as an impact benchy only he is fine. Which is why I have been banging on about needing another prop and lock. We have one run-on NRL prop, so we are one injury or suspension away from none.

Some select stats from NSWRL.com.au

Run Metres (post contact)
Tu’itupou 243m from 21 runs (89m)
Staines 234m from 23 runs (88m)
Lobb 170m from 20 runs (58m)
Kit Laulilii 168m from 12 runs in 45 mins (63m)
Feledy 138m from 14 runs (44m)
Rahme 135m from 12 runs in 42 mins (40m)
Murray 131m from 12 runs in 55 mins (46m)
Taateo 74m from 6 runs in 25 mins (23m)

Hunt 44m from 5 runs in 33 mins (16m)
Thanks for the information. One feature of Taateo is his ability to consistently break tackles, which is something our NRL team could utilise. I hope the coaching staff and the player himself are working on his game.

What he’s doing for our NSW Cup team is what we had hoped Royce Hunt would do for our NRL team.
Although not as big as Royce, Taateo’s aggressive style and ability to hit top speed quickly is making him a standout and I agree he looks like a player capable of stepping up to NRL and making an impact there as well.

Man I was making the point that we should go in for Cobbo on the signings page, i think this proves it. We are playing a game of roulette with our centres.

Star has been great this year. Totally exceeded expectations but he misses a lot of footy with injuries.

Makasini has never played against men. He may need time.

May has played like 8 games in 3 years. His mental health issues will not have resolved in 10 weeks. Also unproven at centre

Mapa is an unknown quantity. Looks a talent but has been with a couple of clubs now. Plus he is playing 6 in cup.

NRL ready centre would be a welcome addition imo
