Yeah I get your point now. A bit more of an explanation would have been good.

I do hope that as part of Richo's staff changes, some more resources can be put into written content. Those weekly pathways previews & reviews are a waste of time the way they are written imo.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like the coaches to comment more on the players (what they have done well or what they have been asked to work on for their development). Happens in the AFL with VFL match reviews and is very much appreciated by members & fans.

There was talk last week many players didn't know till the night before where they were playing.. And then we get the result we saw it's not surprising

It’s not even amateurs run it’s more like a friendship group coming together on game day

If most the squad is NRL members have the team train with first grade at least then the cup side will play and prep the same way and will lead to players being better prepared for NRL otherwise whats the point in having a reserve team.

  • With NRL players dropping back, it's going to be a fight for the outside back positions in Cup with Casey, Ngutlik, Kirk & Vaihu all highly rated.
  • Vaihu is eligible for Jersey Flegg but included in this squad so must be highly rated by the coaches.
  • Tyler Colley has won the fight to be the consistent half/5/8 in Cup this season and likely to be partnered by Sullivan, Fainu & Galvin (maybe Sezer) through the season.
  • Jimmy The Jet could be our real bolter this season if he can stay injury-free!!!

The only game I have seen Vaihu play was against the Warriors and RTS swat him away like a fly on numerous occasions. I saw nothing in this guy but understand he is young and hope I am wrong.

Vaihu does have ability and I think that situation was very much boy against man to a degree.

There is something about him I like and more particularly as a backrower longer term. Maybe it's a combo of effort, footwork & good hole-running. Will get physically stronger with more pre-seasons & needs to work on aspects of his defence.

I think most of us thought Vaihu had a poor start. Maybe rushing in, too keen to make an impression. I thought he went ok the rest of the game. Certainly tried hard & didn't drop his head. Long way to go but he might have more to offer.

This is solely a list of players with NSW cup contracts. Others have NRL, development or Flegg contracts.

Our forwards and backs already get dominated. We can only have so many undersized players in the squad. Look at be the dragons game, their players aren't Superstars but they're big and strong and easily out muscled our boys.
Vaihu will never be able to tackle the likes of RTS, Suli or Sua.

Vaihu has not really impressed me as yet, but he’s being given opportunities I assume based on Benji staying true to his word and giving opportunities to players who worked hard during the pre season and got themselves physically fit and strong.
I applaud Benji for this stance and obviously not all players will become stars no matter how fit and strong they become, but to become elite you generally have to become as strong and fit as possible, putting plenty of hard work and effort into achieving this even when away from the team environment.

three hookers, two locks and two rookie halves is going to make for tough viewing for anyone who plans on watching this weekend.

this side will improve once Naden, Latu and Sione, Lui-Toso and Kepaoa and possibly Sezer filter back in, but until then they're going to struggle, especially against this Canberra side containing Stewart, Weekes, Schiller, Mooney, Hola, Sasagi, Puru etc.

Very impressive NSW Cup 1-5, very impressive hooker rotation, talent in our 13 rotation and Sukkar is one to watch, but not convinced the forward pack as a whole is up to NSW Cup standard.
Don’t know much about Noah Ryan but not convinced on Matai just yet either.
I hate to say it, but up against a very strong Raiders NSW Cup side, this team is up against it and in danger of getting beaten convincingly.
