OFFICIAL Pathways - KOE General Discussion

How did latu go in the first half I missed it?

We were pinned down our end 4 the first 40. Couldn't
get going, Eels were making 65 metres a set...
Matai didn't offer anything...Valevatu could partner
him when Tallyn gets back, can see that happening

Think we scored all our points when our starting props were on and they scored all theirs when they wernt. Tui- Loso runs hard and fast and made 180m, Matamua impressive in attack and defence, Porter experienced and solid and stole a try. Those 3 laid the platform. Naden won it with class in 2nd half, Lobb, Alaimalo good wingers who can make nrl level imo and right body shapes, Feledy looked good in attack - still not sure on his defence. Fainu looked a class above in first half with the ball and then rested in 2nd half.

How's the kicking game on Nado! Unrated talent. Haha

Alaimalo impressive today. He really stood up.

Feledy in attack is not a problem....just needs time to work out his defensive game and reads. He needs to stay in Cup all season.

Faagutu didn't have a great performance (apart from his kickoff return). But he needs these games to learn from. In lower grades they dont make you pay as much for your errors. At this level it can be costly. I can see the likes of him and Kit rotating in and out of Flegg and Cup this year. The experience in this grade is necessary for their development.

Only caught the last 10 mins... How did Latu go?

Love these old jerseys when they first came.out I was a kid I thought they were so great wanted one so bad... Mum wasn't in favour

Latu looks classy but had limited opportunities. He isn't a halfback. The hooker switched to half and looked good, so I'd be starting him at 7 and moving Latu to 6.

Loved the way he straightened the attack for our first try. Very different player to Galvin. IMO he is classier, but he doesn't have the loud voice and will to get involved Galvin has.

He would do great with Sezer at 7 and a link man at 13. Hopefully that can be Galvin after some peptides.

Even though we scrapped a win it was an Awful display by the Magpies. Can’t see any of these players pushing the first grade squad. Need some powerful and aggressive middle forwards

Naden won that game on his own in the last 20 minutes.

Forwards had nothing but Feledy and Alaimolo were good.
Forwards had nothing must mean Porters try was nothing? Our forwards were not as bad as you put it out to be going up against a NRL experienced forward pack. Lui Toso and Porter were great starting forwards. Matamua strong all game. Faagutu defensively has some work to do on our line covering the inside but was solid and keeping busy everywhere else same with Vaihu, Tumeth was solid when he came on. Sukkar was solid in attack but again defensively needs some work.

So overall our forwards were pretty good not quite sure what you were watching

Well said

Great game from Naden.
Feledy showed some good signs as did Casey and Lobb.
I was ready to send Alaimalo back to New Zealand a few weeks back, now I think he might come good and be a real x-factor for us at NRL level.
I agree Valevatu is a very whole hearted player, played well today.
I also agree our starting middles are improving, good to see.
Young Sukkar looked much better in the middle.
Tumeth went well off the bench, his hit that forced a turnover on a rampaging Ogden changed the game for us.
Latu Fainu showed glimpses of his class in the first half, but was off and on in the second half, maybe he is still being effected by his hamstring injury.

I think Latu shows the difference why benji and richo have been banging on about galvin

Even tho galvin is a 6 like Latu - he actually gets involved more in the game

If you played both of them at the same time galvin would be the 7 for sure

Latu attitude seems to rely more on talent than effort whereas galvin probably has less talent (marginally) but more effort and better attitude which makes him a better first grade prospect.

That’s just my opinion of course

Galvin is like Munster and Latu is like Luai

Who’s better is up to personal preference

Id want Munster in my team over Luai every day of the week.

Still reflecting on the dramatic improvement from Solomon Alaimalo within a few weeks.
He’s obviously getting a much better understanding of the game and gaining confidence, he’s an imposing figure and someone I think could really explode onto the NRL scene before too long.

I wrote him off after the Raiders game but today was much better especially in the air.

I was the same, he looked scared and not up to it in that Raiders game.
Watching him live today, he’s an absolute monster among men and looks to now be starting to use his size to advantage both in the air, with some strong ball running and at times when defending.

Agreed. On the improve and looking good. No need to rush him though...will get better every week he plays in cup.

Hard to judge Latu fully when he is playing limited minutes coming off of an injury. But yeah Galvin is an everywhere man. Wants the ball. Wants to defend. Does the extra effort plays. Impressive!

I’m supposing it will be Sezer/Sullivan with a Galvin suspension but based on that display maybe Naden/Sezer is a better option.
