Geez, I hope Aaron Payne gets the boot at the end of this season. This team is a rabble.

The rest of the team is disturbingly bad so it’s hard to get a good gauge.. gets no good ball. Did score the only time he got good ball in the first halfHow’s big Mak going
he blitzed them in his first try….. so they never go back to him for the rest of the game 🙄The rest of the team is disturbingly bad so it’s hard to get a good gauge.. gets no good ball. Did score the only time he got good ball in the first half
Has touched the ball about 5 times in 60 minutes of footy. Scored with one of his two touches in attacking shape. Good out of yardage and a couple of nervy moments with his reads in defence. How’s big Mak going
Kit has looked good today
How far in roughly was Mak’s try?masi way tooo quick 😅 great try
12th minHow far in roughly was Mak’s try?
No they stuffed that up.. was like 18-6 at halftime dogsDoes the NSWRL site have it right? 40-18 at halftime and same score at fulltime?
I think he’ll make it as a regular first grader, I just don’t think it’s until he’s 22 or 23.Kit has looked good today
Love these summaries cheersIt was a well-connected team versus a development team today. And we were the development team with 4 x 18/9yos (CTP, Godinet, Mak & Luke L) plus a Cup debutant (Lanyon).
At one stage, we had a forward pack of Lanyon, Jack, Godinet, CTP, Hope, Rahme, so I can understand the blow-out a bit.
But in saying that, disappointing today were Luke Laulilii (too many basic handling errors), Mapapalangi & Falls once again will be having nightmares about Logan Spinks running through him (like earlier in the season).
Heath Mason has strung two very good games in a row at fullback, arguably our best & most incisive in attack and 3 or 4 try saving tackles (cover & holding up). Made a couple of poor passing decisions after his own breaks which he needs to curb.
Kit Laulilii imo played his best NSW Cup game and was our most dominant forward, both with his carries & contact in defence which was a real improvement today. Peter Taateo was also strong and these two finally brought an excellent 1-2 punch. Unfortunately when they went off for their break, we lost the middle.
Taupau-Moors looks an exciting prospect on both sides of the ball & with some agro about him - unfortunately it got the better of him being placed on report for a shoulder charge on Zyon M. Good minutes for Godinet who played his role without any stand-out moments (good or bad).
Makasini was dangerous and strong in contact. A couple of times looked like he was found out in defence just in decision making & I reckon he will need some coaching on how he sometimes carries the ball with just a hand-grip as this cost a handling error late in our own half. But boy is he going to be something!
Great acknowledgment for Josese Lanyon named as 18th man & getting some good time on the field when Bailey Hodges unfortunately failed a HIA after Tui'tupou did as well. He was busy as usual but just struggled with the size of the Bulldogs middles at times and lack of combination with Hope & our halves. But great experience for him who should be playing a lot of Cup next season.
Shout out to Jaxson Rahme as well who played big minutes in the middle and played his typical strong game on both sides of the ball.
In summary, our best were Mason & Kit followed by Taateo & Rahme, whilst most disappointing in my eyes was Mapapalangi who should be playing for a roster spot next year and made some uncharacteristic errors today.
Very rare for any prop to make it till that time let alone one who played lock all his junior careerI think he’ll make it as a regular first grader, I just don’t think it’s until he’s 22 or 23.
Just too inconsistent at this stage.
People are saying we need 2 middles more, one NRL experienced starter and one young impact. Could Kit be that young one? With another off season.I think he’ll make it as a regular first grader, I just don’t think it’s until he’s 22 or 23.
Just too inconsistent at this stage.
