I have been watching big Sol in state cup regularly this season and he has carried on his improvement from last year in Flegg. Once he learns how to use his size for more impact, and i don't say this as a criticism as he is doing well, i have seen patches of games where you would think he would roll over the top of some one and he doesn't. i believe that will come with more experience. Big fan and i would be suprised if he doesn't get his chance in FG in the near future.

Looking forward to NSW Cup on Sunday. Will be a good test for the Magpies up against a red-hot Dragons.
Not discounting our form in our past 2 matches but it has been up against below-strength & poor Roosters & Sea Eagles teams.
Sunday will give us a good feel on how the likes of Saukuru, Javon Andrews, Faainga'a, Vaka Aho, Mitch Taotua, Taateo go against quality Cup opposition.
And hopefully how Latu Fainu can lead us from halfback!

Often talk about where we play our reserve grade games. Panthers, Dragons and Eels all with home games not where they play NRL
they spread the games around , to minimize ground upkeep , the days of 3 grades on a day are over , has been for a while really
Parra stadium was the 2nd ground after MCG with te pouncy reticulation systems to go in and thats when maintenance become a cost they looked at , basically all the racecourses got a done over also.An old fella died in his cab tipping of at parra ,leagues club car park ,the sand to filter the feild was being screened to some 100000thof a grain of dust from newcastle ACI (?) glass

As diabolical as first grade was tonight, I can't see anyone being promoted from reserves.
Roberts would be a chance but he's coming back from injury.
Madden will be replaced by Luai, so we won't see Andrews.
Benji doesn't rate Saukuru.
Haywood is an outside chance of a bench spot with Api gone for the year.

Benji doing Benji things will probably pull Latu from NSW Cup tomorrow. I hope not but Api going down may prompt Benji to keep him on ice for Friday night. Just when Latu needs the halfback reps.

Yep. Let Latu play halfback in Cup for the rest of the year. Chance of him and Javon taking us deep into finals there and both getting valuable reps. Will be down at the ground tomorrow and I hope to see those 2 carve up.

Hope so TW. Wll be very disappointed if Latu doesn’t play Cup tomorrow. Seriously I’d rather Lanyon & Hope rotate at dummy half in NRL if it meant Latu getting reps at halfback in Cup.

Agreed. That option also gives Haywood increased minutes in Cup, which is also a win.

Agreed. For me either Latu replacing Madden in the NRL halves or halves in Cup. Not NRL starting or bench hooker
