Solid. On first impressions seems like a Tuala, Shibasaki level player. First grade replacement level that wouldn't cost much. Has a bit of toe. Solid.

And congrats on his first try. We've had a few get their first this season. Twal must be wondering what he's gotta do.

Yeah he did OK.

Missed quite a few tackles which is a worry when our edges are already an issue, but to be fair from what I remember most of them were in the first half and he had plenty of mates there as Brisbane were cutting us up pretty badly.

Good to see him get a try though, can also break a tackle.

You’re comparing this bloke to Shibasaki? Pauga streets ahead of him

I liked his willingness to get in and make runs and he has a good step (to his left).

I can't say hes a long term option as some of his missed tackles were concerning (EG - How quickly we just got opened up after we hit the lead 20-18 on his side).

His going to get a huge test with Turbo running on those flanks this week. He will have to improve fast.

Just good to see a outside back who has some speed and is elusive. His defence was not great, but it’s all a big learning curve

If Pauga plays more first grade than Shibasaki I'll be happy.

Found out in D but had a good crack..chased hard..

Not afraid of contact with some good signs in attack.. definitely worth persisting with given the other options..

Can not play him against Manly.

Who then?

Defensively they will crucify him and us. I'd rather have Mybe then expect him to face that onslaught.

But Turbo will do it anyone you put there, he may as well get that experience?

was found out by Tyson Gamble of all people a couple times. obviously had eyes for Staggs as most would but some of his reads were very poor. by the sounds of things he's always doing extras to ensure he's improving his game, hopefully he's working overtime on his defence.

saw plenty in his attack to think he's worth persisting with. up against Harper which should mean an easier test defensively, but with Turbo about its going to be interesting.

Not sure putting him up against the best there is when he is not ready will do much for his development or confidence.

I think we need an honest assessment of him. After watching the game again he definitely was found out.

Defensively happy to mix it up in the contact but doesn't stick in tackles. Honestly needs to be better if he is going to be there a lot.

Offensively he struggled working the ball out of the end and got dominated alot. He does have heart however and contiuously had a crack which is a huge plus.

Overall it was a poor start imo but its his first game so hopefully improves fast.

Yeah right nothing like dropping a player a week after his debut when he scored to save his confidence.

Its not dropping him because of his performance it's about selecting the team that has the best chance of winning.

He’s playing in the NRL, if he is going to make it, he is going to have to play the best, which is most of the teams, Tommy will be running anywhere he see a hole, not always at him?

This bloke is better than James Roberts. Simple as that. Don’t drop him, he’s the best thing we’ve got for that position with Talau

Lol and who is going to do a better job? I think last time we played manly we put chee kam there to do a defensive job and that clearly paid dividends.

No one we have will do any better than Pauga

Manly will direct all their attack at him after that performance.
