Paul Gallen Interview - Has a crack at Tigers

I'd take Ivan Cleary and Brian Smith's RL credentials over Gallen. He was great for a while for Cronulla and NSW (hmm wonder why?) but now he's a massive handbrake on everything they do. Just as they need to spread the ball good ole Gal can be relied on to take another 4m charge.

Why give the guy oxygen..

Because he has been the captain of the losing team for 6,7,8 (how ever many) SOO series?

This game amazes me, nearly everyone on this planet seen it as a dive (including Gallen) except 2 people, the ref and the video ref.

What ever happened to common sense ??

He would have been livid if the shoe was on the other foot, Grub, cheater, all round got no class.

100% agree with this !!!

Even his coach would of been next to him complaining as he is a grub also.

First thing these grubs said after the lose was how terrible they played and not once did they say Tigers played well with 15 players (2 injured by there team through foul play of course). This pissed me off big time..

How many times do you see it though that the top teams always get the calls go their way. Twice in the past few weeks Brisbane have been on the right end of incorrect bunker decisions, Gallen get's away with his Logie performance and i couldn't count how many times the Storm have bluffed the ref's. I bet you Woods would of done the same thing though.

It's amazing ain't it? They just line up to take pot shots at us. Jeez you need thick skin to be a tigers fan. Seems every day someone has us in their sights. I can't think of two bigger poo bags. Fairdinkum, Weidler could have reminded that handsome bugger of the fact we lost Sharon and that other bloke - what's his name again? And the real star of the show was on one leg for 70 minutes. But no…..

The problem with common sense it that it's not very common.

GOD i hope SBW smashes this guy up when they fight at the end of the year

That's what the dive was about practicing for when SBW sits him on his backside.

Recalled Kangaroo Andrew Fifita brands fans' treatment of Wests Tigers stars Aaron Woods, Mitchell Moses and James Tedesco 'a disgrace'

One-time Tiger Andrew Fifita has branded the treatment of departing stars Aaron Woods, Mitchell Moses and James Tedesco by pockets of the club's supporters as "a disgrace" after angrily confronting a can-throwing patron on Saturday night.
>
The reforming rugby league bad boy was hailed for turning his life around as he prepares for an Australian recall at the expense of the injured Woods – and wouldn't back down from his strong stance in the ugly aftermath of the Tigers and Sharks clash at Leichhardt Oval.
\
\
The Cronulla Sharks have continued their undefeated away run this season with a 22-16 win over the Wests Tigers, though there was early controversy over a disallowed try.
Fifita, who joked he once caught a bottle and started drinking from it after being the target of an unruly Canberra fan in 2013, didn't hide his feelings after the Tigers' highest-profile stars were subject to crude banners and abuse in their latest match against premiers Cronulla.
>
Asked about the signs, Fifita said: "I thought it was disgraceful. I'll come out and say it.

Fifita's Kangaroos return a classic redemption tale: Meninga
"I ran out on to the field – I love Leichhardt, it's one of my all-time favourite fields to play at – I loved playing there when I was at the Tigers [but] to come out of the sheds and see that, it brought me back to when I was coming out of [the club].
>
"I feel for Woodsy, but I also know they'll want to go out with a bang. You saw it with Michael Ennis with us last year when he was [retiring]. Those boys won't give in and they will want to play finals football and try to take it all the way – and use that as motivation."
>
The Tigers and police are investigating the incident which saw a spectator hurl an object in the vicinity of players as they shook hands shortly after the Sharks won a controversial clash 22-16.
>
Fifita marched in the direction of the alleged culprit and dished out his own spray before being led away.
>
"I said to him, 'You're a disgrace to that jersey' and 'You can't call yourself a loyal fan by throwing your beers at your own players'," Fifita said. "It's not just the team buying into the culture, it's the fans as well.
>
"If you're a fan, you're a fan of the club and team. It doesn't matter how hard they're doing it at the time or how bad they're going, you get around the boys and be there for them.
\

\
"I've got a family to go home to, friends to meet, and it's not called for. If you're a fan, sit back, relax, enjoy the footy. I know they wear their heart on their sleeve sometimes, but the main thing is to be happy about it."
>
Fifita was packing his bags to head into camp with Tonga for this Saturday's Pacific Test extravaganza when told he would instead be linking with the Kangaroos in Canberra for Friday night's blockbuster against New Zealand.
>
It comes six months after the Australian Rugby League Commission deemed him ineligible for Mal Meninga's Four Nations squad due his public support of one-punch convicted killer Kieran Loveridge.
>
Meninga sat down with Fifita on Sunday to explain the Kangaroos culture he was trying to nurture after Woods and Shannon Boyd were forced to withdraw through injury.
>
"We played against Cronulla this year already and I've seen a change in his persona on the field, to be honest," Kangaroos skipper Cameron Smith said. "All he was worried about was doing his job for the team.
>
"I just think his focus was carrying the ball strong, which is his best asset, and getting his job done in defence. He wasn't worried about sledging or anything else outside of what he needed to do.
>
"He's paid his dues now and is playing exceptional football again this season and warrants selection."
>
Fifita revealed he didn't watch any of the Kangaroos' Four Nations campaign as he embarked on a mental health speaking tour and worried about his own wellbeing.
>
The 27-year-old, whose wife is expecting their third child, joked he would have been just as happy with Tonga's accommodation at Rooty Hill rather than the five-star luxury afforded to the Kangaroos in Canberra.
>
And he thought the chance to wear the green and gold might have passed him by.
>
"At the lowest point? Yeah, maybe. But the way things change and the things you learn mentally, I was trying to stay positive," he said.
>
"In saying that I'm quite happy in my life right now, what I do on the field and what I do off the field. The gratitude is that Kangaroos jersey and it shows little things are paying off on the field."

Ok guys. Time to stop the booing.
The paragon of virtue that is Andrew Fifita has declared it a disgrace.

Thats pretty funny, but most of its all true… Like it or not, if Woods doesnt grab him, he has no opportunity to take the dive and we get 4 points.

Either way, he is always gona be remembered as a Grub, Drug Cheat and the bloke who captained the Blues to 8 Straight Series Losses for NSW.

My mate has been a Sharks season ticket holder for over 20 years, he tells me the fans in the Stand he sits with, the ones who know their footy, dislike Gallen. His 2 hit ups a set in the attacking 20 have stifled that team for years. He won't be revered like a Menzies or Pearce or Mortimer by Sharks fans

What a loser. He basically said he was allowed to dive because Woods had his hand on him. Does anyone know what the rules say about the guy playing the ball touching the marker?

This guy is one of the most over rated players in the history of Rugby League.

A grub of the highest order, a drug cheat, a diver and all round 'no talent'.

Great captain as well - how many losses has he led NSW to again?

He is a joke - his club is a joke - and his comments are a joke.

As a Rugby League player and go to man for after match comments - he makes a great street sweeper.

Most of the RL world are sweating on you retiring you Grub!
