Paul Momirovski

Shows how bad we've been for a decade when a player like Momers can get so much attention... at almost every other club he's just an okay player but we've got fans talking about him like he's Mal Meninga

Good on him, had a solid season and got his ring. Having him at tigers would've made very little difference this year

His defence would of made a huge difference this season alone, Robinson didn’t want him to leave the Roosters Bellamy wanted him and Clearly also wanted him, but he wasn’t good enough for WT, go figure.

Momo slots in well with a good side just like Huth did. Neither would have changed the fortunes of our team this year but would have been useful. We outplayed Penrith with out their stars and Momo in the side. It was a good deal for us.

Tonight showed that Benji should call it quits.

I don't think he is going to, will hang around hoping for a contract.

A seagull hanging around for a hot chip!

Well we much be a team full of Plovers.

Yeah then we would've had Mbye at fullback which would've worked out great

He's not even like a top class defender. Again, he's solid not spectacular. He's also in the best defensive team in the competition which helps and if he was playing under Madge's defensive structures he would've been pretty poor

Sure he would've helped this year but I doubt it changes our overall result. Solid player, nothing more nothing less

Momo as a player got a better deal but the tigers as a club got the better deal out of the trade that’s how I see it

I was as shocked as anyone to hear that Moma was regarded by the club as not good enough to be rated as a full time centre because we had Roberts, BJ and Talau. I didn’t rate those 3 as half as good as Moma and still don’t.
What would make the club happy to pay part of his contract to play for Penrith? It had to be politically or emotively motivated? Which also makes me wonder if that decision was not Maguire’s.?
In my attempts to rationalise this swap deal for Laurie, I could only find one fault with Moma, he was a Cleary recruit.
I can accept there are biases in the decision making process, just wish we could all be more focussed on being winners.

? yeah it is ridiculous.
The comments by our fans are displaying an unearned arrogance.
The bloke has played for 4 clubs in 4 years and 3 of them won the premiership.

Yeah maybe he isn’t the weaklink?

Paul Momirovski has played for teams that won 3 premierships in the past 4 years with 3 different clubs ... the one he didn't get? His year at Wests Tigers where they finished 9th

* 2018 - Roosters (played the prelim but was relegated to the extended bench for the GF)

* 2019 - Wests Tigers

* 2020 - Melbourne Storm on loan from Tigers (injured)

* 2021 - Penrith Panthers starting centre.

Going back even further,

* 2016- Started at 5/8 as part of the Roosters winning Holden Cup side (comeback win against the Panthers, the match ft. Dyl Edwards, Liam Martin, Joey Manu and Victor Radley among others).

* 2017- Starting Centre for Wyong Roos who lost in the NSW Cup GF against the Panthers (side ft. Luai, Kikau, Leota)

In the past 6 years he's been part of 5 teams/squads that have made the GF, 4 of which they won. Insane record

Congrats to the bloke. Well deserved

The ex girlfriend that just keeps getting hotter and hotter

Or the girl you went to school who was maybe a 5 in high school. You see her a couple years later and she’s a 10. Had experience there a couple of times.

Sounds like club recruitment over the last 20 years.

Hell of a player

Solid player.
Never should have made that trade.
We only needed to stay patient to get Laurie anyway.

This!
I have been sitting on the fence re Maguire, but not any more.
Maguire asks us all to be patient, "we're building a team, it takes time." The Momirovski trade flies in the face of that.
If we had waited, we would have two good players, not one, next season.
It looks to me like Maguire was chasing some instant gratification instead of patiently building (getting it right) and as a result made a questionable retention decision. The fact that Momirovski can walk straight into the starting 17 of a now premiership side tells me that Maguire missed something there.
That is, of course, unless the decision came from above.

Momoirovski didn't have a contract for nest year.

Predictable to see this thread pop up. His team wins the comp and now suddenly we’ve lost the best centre in the comp.

He is a squad filler at Panthers and would have been a squad filler here. I’d take Laurie every day of the week and if he stayed at Panthers this year there is every chance he could have backflipped.

Are you suggesting he is the modern day James Maloney - who almost single handedly changes the fortunes at each club he is at?

We are such a stupid club. Momirovski was too good for us. He was vital in many games for Penrith at centre. He's such a quality finisher and was so at our club too.

I don’t think that was our mentality at all. We needed a fullback and there was an opportunity to secure one. Momo was probably the only player Penrith would take.

Is it easier to get a 1st grade full back or first grade centre? It was a step sideways to start moving forward.

Congrats to momo. He is probably the only ex tiger that I still support.
