Did the player intentionally go in to hit Leilua high? No - but he did hit him high, and had he not, gravity would have taken its natural course and Lucy scores a try. So yes, penalty try was the correct decision.

Was Jennings put on report for that though?

Not at the game - today's match review may tell a different story.

He was put on report I believe. I’m pretty sure it was done as the penalty try was awarded.

Thanks champion @Chicken_Faced_Killa - I missed that bit.

Penalty try every day of the week. Head shot first, then contact with the ball, which went behind lucy and Garner grounded the ball, Try either way. Two of WT ex players put crap on the decision namely, Anasta and Roach. Both deserve uppercuts.

I thought the contact was force full..

Maybe Bwaith should line up and Wests Tigers forum members could take turns of belting him in the head to varying degrees and see if he gets up or stays down..

He’s on my return flight to Brisbane right now. I’ll start…..

If you watch the tackle again he actually drops his shoulder. Because George is just a dumb player. What he should have done was try to get his hands under the ball but very unlikely they would have stopped luch from that range anyway

Yes on report

Same thing happened a long time ago when Jamie Ainscough connected with Mark Geyer’s head and Geyer dropped the ball as he tried to score - cost St George a Grand Final.

Craig Smith not Mark or Matt Geyer.

Yeah apples, oranges whoever - it wasn’t the point of my comment.

Penalty try all day.

Watch the replay closely, Luch wrestles free of the attempted Kikau tackle, switches ball arm to place it, then cops the forearm of Jennings.

He visibly stiffens in shock from the contact and then the ball is punched loose. Jennings cant punch the ball loose IMO, from that position, if he hasn't first collected the head, because of how Luch is holding the ball.

I also think the contact causes Luch to loosen his grip in shock.

Sorry my Dad said the same thing last night and I was on a run of correcting people.

I've been a supporter of the crackdown as I understand they have to draw a line in the sand, but seriously some of those penalties last night to both sides were really soft. Not Luch's one but most of the others.
We've got through the crackdown without any sin bins or suspensions so far, but will any of our players be cited from last night? Maybe Seyfarth for the hit on the player on the ground and the leg lift. Any others?

Wasn't Nofoalama put on report twice?

Ah, the guy hit him with a swinging arm to the head when Luciano clearly hold control of the ball. If the shoe was on the other foot, Cleary would be saying it was a try for the same reason.

Don’t see why it needs to be analysed further.

Can I just say how happy I was to see Cleary lose.

Even if the penalty try wasn't awarded, I tight the ball was punched out of LLs hands backwards and then another WT player (maybe Garner?) forces it down.
So I'd say it was a try either way

He whacked him in the head in the process of scoring a try, resulting in LL dropping the ball. Penalty try every day of the week. Just ask Jamie Ainscough.
