Penrith resting players

What a genius move by Ivan...

It doesn't come without sacrifice though..

In KOE, the Panthers are currently 5th and 2 points clear of the Raiders... The Panthers have a +7 point differential on for and against..

The Panthers play the Raiders this weekend in Canberra. There is absolutely no chance that the Panthers win, or lose by less than 7 given how depleted their team will now be..

Love or hate Ivan, he has a massive set of peanuts ..

I think you mean cojones. A kahuna is a priest or important person in Polynesian culture. You wouldn’t be able to carry two of those around.

It’s weird that he’d be doing this in the second last round and not the last. Trying to give his protege a leg up to cement a top 4 finish?
I think we'll see him rest players again next week ..

There's no home ground advantage for them at commbank...

They are better team if they are rested and no niggling injuries..

I hope they go on and win the comp

I believe they still couldve had a slight chance at top 4 if sharks wahs and broncos lost their remaining two.

Ruins what couldve been a cracker of a game imo

They looked exhausted by the end of that Raiders game. The effort and energy they must have spent pushing through that winning streak and back-to-back games that went to golden point, only to lose in such dramatic fashion, would have taken a physical and mental toll. I think Ivan's timing is spot on—bringing them back for the Dragons game, which will be competitive but not overly physical, ensures they're warmed up and ready for week one of the finals.

I'm on the raiders, payback for that loss to the rorters when the trainer got in the way and the bullshit 6 again reversal.

It wouldn’t surprise me if a few sit out that game too. I doubt we’ll see Clearly till the finals.

very hard to doubt Ivan and his staff with the results they get.

They're prepping for 4 back to back weeks of the toughest football of the lives of some of these young players.

Every team has played the same amount of games .
Every team would be fatigued .
Every team has injuries .
Every team should field their best team .
Penrith just do what ever they want .

Why should they field their best team if they don't have to?

Is it not the goal of every team to win the GF?

You can't start dictating to teams who they should and shouldn't pick... They've made a decision they believe is best for the club, to give them every chance to win the GF..

They are winners..
This is a boss like move..
Protect the team . Give them the best prep for the semis..

All the other noise is just people sooking about the quality of the product... Or betting.. well, the NRL don't care about the quality of the product when we have half the games during origin.. when no origin players can play, do they?

It’s a great move for many reasons.
Some of these Penrith players have played a lot of football over the past 5 years.
Their training staff have proven to be brilliant tacticians, reaching 5 GFs in a row.
They are doing what’s right for their club to make it 6.
Also, you don’t give a mug a break. Let the Dogs see what theyre all about in the finals, not 2 weeks early. No practice games.
