I signed the petition. Having an expert look at your organisation is not a bad process. Quality assurance can confirm the direction of an organisation, let fresh eyes have a look and make positive suggestions. I am 77 years old and a life long supporter of Balmain but now Wests Tigers. I want the best for our club. We have a strong financial base, something that we haven’t always had. We have a centre of excellence something we haven’t had. We have a new coaching future and strong development base. But something is not quite right. I want to see Wests Tigers thrive and win another premiership in my lifetime. A review is nothing to fear but embrace. All I read is squabble after squabble. I was there last night and it is very obvious that after a lot of effort by a lot of decent well meaning people that we need to have a good look at our wonderful club that belongs to all of us. We need something extra that is not there yet.

So I don't have a right to an opinion on the club? I have been a member since day one. I have worked with the club on a few issues. I have a right to an opinion, I have a right to express it to them.
It's your right....some aspects I agree with.

But you don't speak for all and your process may cause further problems for the club which you apparently support.

Ok Dennis or Justin or troll, we are all passionate and we want Wests Tigers to be successful in the NRL & NRLW.
Surely you appreciate that the on-field results keep building frustration in the membership & fanbase amongst others & all we hear is the rhetoric to be patient, we are aggressively recruiting, etc, something we’ve been hearing for years under the current regime & CEO. How long do we wait!

Then a lot of what we actually hear is via the media, the latest being the disconnect between coaches & new recruitment manager, and we continue to hear the same rhetoric from the club with no recruitment results to back it up.

Don’t get defensive about petitions. What do you want passionate members & fans to do? We can’t do anything else. Also the petition is only asking for an independent review be undertaken.

Also separately, if you are who you say you are, why hasn’t the club presented Scott Fulton with Tim & Benji in a media setting or via club comms to reinforce our unified recruitment approach? Doing this is PR 101 so not having done this is poor management in my opinion. And why not announce Lachlan Galvin as a top 30 player next season & how the club sees him progressing, this is major retention news?

NRL 2023: Tigers fans commence fight to change management after slumping to last

Shattered by the club’s flagging results, influential Tigers supporters have called for action in the shape of an external review of the board and senior management.

Fed-up members of the Wests Tigers supporter base have ‘lost faith’ in the club’s leadership and have commenced a petition to evoke change.

Shattered by the club’s flagging results, influential Tigers supporters have called for action in the shape of an external review of the board and senior management.

Wooden-spoon favourites, the Wests Tigers slumped to 16th on the NRL ladder following their 36-12 loss to Cronulla on Thursday night.

The dejection has been magnified by some of the club’s most loyal supporters who have launched a petition demanding “a thorough external review, encompassing all aspects of the organisation.’’

The plan is to share the petition with the senior management of the Tigers and their majority owners, Wests Ashfield Leagues Club.

Supporter petitions rarely have an impact but what makes this one interesting is that it has been launched by fans who were previously embedded in the club.

Steve Stretton is a member of the Wests Tigers fan podcast, helped establish a supporter group and has regularly met with chief executive Justin Pascoe in recent years to help the club with its image on social media.

He recently sent Pascoe an email saying he could no longer be party to the meetings because he was disenfranchised with the organisation.

The petition has nearly 500 signatures and the aim is to get to 2000.

“We are not parroting Wests Tigers propaganda,” Stretton said.

“We just try to support the club. I know Justin well, I have met Lee Hagipantelis. The bottom line is that the club is broken.

“It’s not the players. We have one of the best forward packs in the game when they are all on the field. It‘s is not the coaches.

“The problem is the lack of governance and senior management being able to stick to a plan … and their ability to get harmony and a vision and a culture in the club that breeds success.

“I sent him an email last week and I can’t do this anymore. I said it is nothing personal but I have lost respect for the club’s senior leadership.

“We have no faith there. We have no faith there. I have never seen the agitation I have seen now. I have heard multiple people – the rusted on members – saying they hope the club will fold.”

The Tigers are reeling from key injuries to Api Koroisau and Luke Brooks, both of whom are at least a fortnight away from returning.

The Wests Tigers travel to Newcastle next Friday to tackle the Knights.

Will be interesting to see if and how the club responds.
Lee will come out and say 'Keep the faith' haha.

Seriously when he said that after getting beaten 72-0, being the current wooden spooners and have had no success in 12 years I was disgusted. So out of touch with reality it isn't funny.

The board Pascoe, Lee and everyone in the club should be evaluated by an external review.

When they did the internal review last time I actually laughed. So amateurish.

Agree, we need an independent outsider to conduct a revue of all aspects of this organisation, and when I say independent I don't mean a Brian Smith wrecker type of revue where they may see it as an opportunity for them to get some sort of a foothold or position in the organisation as a result of their findings.

Maybe get someone from outside Australia? The NFL or NBA. We are talking about the boardroom, profits, on field performances etc. Doesn't matter the game. If you run a professional sporting franchise or are affiliated with it then there has to be people that can look at a place and pull no punches.

Anyone in Sydney would have an agenda as you say..

It's the right of every person to have an opinion. So for a bunch of supporters to get together & sign a document 'demanding' a review is a great show of comradery.

I don't think it holds up as a reason for an elected board to then action on it however.

Until the board sees a problem & vote for change, I don't see what a petition request actually achieves.

It would likely be more prudent to have the ear of board members, attend meetings & have an alternative option for the board to consider.

All the petitioners probably boycotted the shit show.
I went to support the club. Considering our depleted squad and with Cronulla at full strength and in top form up for the game I was pleased ,we may have won if Talau scored.

Certainly I don't think most fans who went to the game would support the petition the was it is handled.

Theirs should carry more weight than the mostly non financial views of passive supporters who exist mainly in cyberspace .

Lee will probably just come out with his usual line that the people are not real "supporters" just "fans" because we don't put in as many dollars as he does
I Wonder what the Wests Tigers loose if you are no longer a fan?

When was your last live match? Merchandise? Do you even at least subscribe to foxtel?

Being a regular contributor to a non official forum doesn't count.

The same probably applies to most petitioners.
