Pick the score Qld v NSW

QLD 22 (Inglis, Boyd, Slater; Thurston 5/5)
NSW 20 (Uate, G Stewart, Hayne; Carney 4/5)
FTS: Inglis
LTS: Hayne
MOM: Cronk

Controversey over dodgy penalty given to QLD by Matt Cecchin for high shot on Hodges by Creagh in last minute of the game, 15 out and directly in front. Hodges makes throat slitting gesture to NSW players. Replays show contact on the shoulder and Hodges has milked it. Thurston kicks the winning penalty.

Mal cries at the presser and says this was one of the most courageous wins he has ever seen, against all odds, as Queensland players couldn't get the quality of fruit at the hotel buffet on the morning of the game which "really upset their preparation".

Ricky cries at the presser and says his players "are built for Origin" and they are "building something special here".

Victorian fans go home wondering why more shots at goal weren't taken when the field is so small.

The Daily Telegraph runs headline "Blue Murder: Ricky's Boys Robbed by Ref Howler" with editorial by Rothfield citing an article he wrote in 1964 that accurately predicted this very refereeing blunder by Matt Cecchin would cost NSW Game 1 of Origin 2012, despite the fact that Cecchin was 11 years awy from being born at the time.

The Courier Mail runs headline "QUEENSLANDER!" and dribbles something about NSW cheating and how Creagh should go for 12 weeks for his "vicious assault on Hodges".

And then we regroup for game 2

I was giggling most of the way through this, but totally lost it right here. :roll

The QLDers can't help but be overconfident for this game, Smith is so unconcerned he is suffering the effects of a cold pllllease, NSW to win led by the combination of Farah, Pearce and Carney. Scott and Thurston out injured for Sundays game at Cambo, good result all round

This is my only concern…complacency.

Lets face it, the Maroons have a squad full off superior footballers who have been there and done that many, many times before. They have NSW pipped for every position on the field with Gallen the only challenger. They are more skillful and have a decided dominance over NSW mentally.

I am sure the blues will have a red hot go, but the result will be mainly determined by the QLDers attitude. If they turn up and just go through the motions, it will be close. If they play to their potential, they will flog you.

Geez there is alot of arrogant Queensland supporters out in force. We might as well give the series to QLD and not bother about it.

I hope NSW wins just to shut you people up.

Joe we have been telling you that for a while

Forfeit the series and have a red hot go in 2014 when Woods , Tedesco,Sims etc are playing the house down

Even if by some off chance you win this series , you won't shut us up It will still be 6-1 brother

And if you do win I expect to see the referees buying huge mansions in the South of France

Makes you wonder why they have gone for inexperienced refs for when you have Archer and Hayne

You've got the best side by a mile and you've already found an excuse for losing?

Just asking the question Glen

Not sure how old you are but does the name Julian Rascagnares ring a bell

Ask Bozo Fulton what his thoughts on him are

Thats what I worry about for Qld's sake

If anything mate, inexperienced referees will make sure the game goes the way of the red hot favourites.
They wouldn't want to be seen as the reason for a massive upset, which is what it will be if NSW beat Queensland.

Although; NSW have been referred to this week as New Zealand, and the Queensland side is essentially the Australian side. Maybe if a Julian Rascagnares is pulled out of the hat we could see a repeat of the 18-0 NZ win over Australia from '85\. You're an oracle HT; I'll be at the TAB emptying the nest egg on it.

This is not a revelation.

No - it's garbage.
They played to their potential last year and only the referee got them home.
With a much stronger ( but not perfect) NSW team they'll get blown off the park.
Unless the referee helps them …again.
And how could you QLD supporters even suggest we need the referees help to win when you lot have been hitching a free ride since Origin started.

Or the First Test in 1990 Glen

Know a player who was on the tour but didn't play that game and some of the stories :unamused:

After doing a warm up before the Test a player was heard to hear him speaking almost perfect English to the English officials in the tunnel , but when on the field it was a different matter He was hand picked to do a J O B on the Aussies

Remind me of all the NSW players who have been sent from the field

We have had a few We even got one sent for calling the ref a "f%^*$#n cheat" Never heard of that before or since CK

Poor ol Hollywood , somebody hurt his feelings 😢

You blokes always get the best deal We always picked fair referees like Gommersall ,Eddie Ward ,David Manson

Now you blokes don't even pick neutral refs you are so bias Stuff em 3 NSW referees all series Maybe we should play all 3 games in NSW , or move them to Langlands or Purtell Park instead of Lang Park

NSW boo hoo hoo PM me your addresses and I will overnight post a big box of tissues for your issues

That was hilarious - he couldn't believe Hollywood hadn't taken the money and was going to cheat the cheaters by not cheating!

 NOW THAT is a load of garbage.
Game 1 last year, QLD were very rusty and just snuck home in the dying minutes.
Game 2, NSW were playing at full potential and won. However if GI catches that bomb near the death he races 90 meters for a 2-0 series win.
Game 3, QLD prove how superior they are. NSW blown off the park.
