Next thing we will be signing 17 priests

Why Happy, you say that as if it's a bad thing  The boys can sure use some divine intervention to help them along the way. Especially with injuries

x2
the more the merrier
Perhaps, some powerful prayers and mantras can help with our C&S
and chase away those evil spirits circling WT

Jerry most of us have players we dislike and would hate to see them wearing our colours. Bird is one of them for me.

Certainly wouldnt be the type you want to marry a family member but on the field is top notch.Hes a grub I know but sadly nice guys finish last in first grade.

You do not win comps by signing one dimentional journeymen or ageing players returning from ESL.

You win comps by buying players that have skills that your team needs and BIrds has these skills, hard as nail, great defender and a competive streak that few players can match. He is just what we need, shame he is not on the market

You would soon change your mind once Bird was in out colours. Remember Darren Senter, Craig Field, Terry Hill???? All guys who were grubby and or annoying.

I didn't rate Senter,Field was OK and Hill was good for us,none of those bashed their girlfriend and tried to blame their flatmate, whist a good player I say no thanks, and for the record I don't like Inglis,Teo or Auva'a either for the same reasons.

I had a lot of trouble cheering for Field, Hill and Hopoate …..... I did .. but can't say I felt passionate.

Didn't Crag Field get convicted of murder?

Didn't bash his girlfriend though.

Hoppa I grew to love but then he quickly fixed that problem.
Terry did played like 13 games for us in the first 3 years then pulled his finger out in his final year and played the house down at lock only to leave for Manly.

Great way to spend money.

Craig Field is, I'll keep this pleasant, a low life scumbag.

Tried to lure a young player in Wagga to help him steal money out of the hoppers at a Leagues club in Wagga. When discovered, Field threw the young fella under the bus and hightailed it to Gundagai, had a few brawls there then left again.

Got tried for murder, I think he got charged with manslaughter (lesser charge) something to do with a drunken brawl that he started where he king hit some bloke who hit the ground and died (I believe)

I hate the fact he wore a Tigers jumper.

I'd rather have both my eyes poked out with a pointy stick than have to watch Greg Bird run around in a WT jersey. Hell, I even have trouble barracking for NSW with him in the team!

Flip we have a Maroon jersey with your name on it waiting

Underdog has now switched allegiances , just ask him

BLUESLANDER.

I agree with you to a certain extent Ink. But any player who pulls on the Tigers jersey represents the club we associate ourselves with.

I hate the bulldogs half because of their annoying bandwagon supporters and the other half because of players like Ennis and Reynolds who are indicative of that particular club's culture.

I wouldn't want a player like Greg Bird pulling on our jersey and representing our club with a poor and unsportsman like attitude for the public to judge us on.

I can understand people saying they don't want players who have track records for off field incidents, especially violence against women, but not wanting players cos they might be grubs on the field, when they have no history of off field drama's i don't understand or agree with. You need a 1 or 2 grubs in your side that opposition players and supporters hate. Having a team full of clean skins doesn't get you too far. Look at every team thats won the comp the last few yrs, all had at least 2 or 3 grubs in their ranks.

GNR,not disagreeing with you,but isn't the NRL now trying to clean up the game, the days of being a grub on the field is slowly starting to fade..new rules, refs taking a harder line etc.
The young ones being taught a different approach to the game, hard and strong running and cleaner tackling..
I don't think they want to be the grub from their particular club.
This is just my opinion as I see the game going,if any player is grubby off the field, then that's their particular makeup… 😱pen_mouth: :sign:

Even though he is getting on Steve Mattai is one of those that I would have loved to have at Wests Tigers. Hate playing against him - but love to watch him play. And while he has a bad reputation on the field off the field he is by all reports a great bloke. James Graham, another one …. worth every cent IMO.

Wouldn't mind Graham and Steve at our club. Even though Steve isn't as fiery as he once used to be, he's still a very good player to have playing beside you. We can dream on…..

Bird is exactly the back rower we need and Matai is the centre we need

I don't think badly of the Titans on them having Bird and same goes for Manly and Matai

I want my club to be competitive on field and I really don't care how it happens to be honest ,even if it meant cheating the salary cap
