Even if that is the case the NRL integrity unit have a large say in what happens to Lovett.Feel for Griffin he dosent deserve that

Griffin was an excellent depth player who never really was given a chance in top company, has a great motor and ball skills, but we will always prefer the 'run up, get tackled, get dominated, slowly play the ball' type of player, it has got us to where we are in todays NRL, I don't see why we should change it.

Lets be honest and I like Rod as I' sure the club do but he has just turned 30 and never played first grade despite being close at 4 clubs so everyone has decided he isn't quite at that level.

The 30c Griffin was getting paid won't affect our cap position whatsoever. He was a second tier player and was paid accordingly.
But go ahead and draw the picture please.

Doesn't necessarily mean he's been punted for Lovett.

He's probably homesick and gone somewhere closer to home. Why toil away down here when you're zero chance of playing FG here and another opportunity becomes available?

Got the feeling from listening to Greenberg interviewed on radio that they will come down hard on NRL players who misbehave and break the law - I expect Lovett will get an appropriate punishment and the WTs be forced to punt him.

Griffin has signed with the Bulldogs on a 1 year deal. Might have a shot at first grade there as there are a few bench spots up for grabs.

Wests Tigers release Rod Griffin

Wed 8th February, 11:50AM

Wests Tigers have today released Rod Griffin from the remainder of his playing contract with the Club.

Griffin, 30, has been released from the final year of his contract, effective immediately, to take up an opportunity with another Club.

Griffin joined Wests Tigers for the 2016 season and was a part of the Club’s Intrust Super Premiership side.

Wests Tigers General Manager Football Kelly Egan wished Griffin well as he continued his playing career at another Club.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I would like to wish Rod the best of luck at his new Club,” said Egan. “During his time at Wests Tigers Rod has shown time and time again to be committed to the Club, both on and off the field.

“As well as being a part of our Intrust Super Premiership team Rod was always the first player to volunteer to assist with Wests Tigers’ community activities which is a testament to his character,” he said.

Griffin, who has played 10 Test Matches for Papua New Guinea, joined Wests Tigers from the Ipswich Jets.

I don't think Belmore is that much closer to Home…

Bulldogs Official Statement
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have signed former Wests Tigers lock Rod Griffin on a one year deal.

Born in Papua New Guinea and raised in Atherton, Queensland, the 30-year old arrives at Belmore with a wealth of experience in the game.

The newest member of the Bulldogs playing roster has played nine Tests for Papua New Guinea, including the 2008 World Cup and 2010 Four Nations tournament.

In addition, he represented Queensland under 17s and 19s, with new team-mate Greg Eastwood and was a member of the winning Ipswich Jets side that won the Queensland Cup in 2015, alongside current Bulldogs player Josh Cleeland.

“Rod’s a no-nonsense forward with a strong carry and a good offload. He comes to the club looking for an NRL opportunity and will provide plenty of depth and experience to our squad,” said Bulldogs - Head of Recruitment, Warren McDonnell.
