Players we have released

Austin thought that he was wasn't in Taylor's plans as the club was pushing for the Moses/Brooks combination, while it took a little while for Austin to make First Grade with us his career was well and truly resurrected at the Tigers.
Remember that it was Potter's decision to do a swap with the Storm, Koro for Lodge, everyone at the time thought he was a genius but hindsight tells us now that it was a recipe for disaster.

It was a good decision at the time and that's really the only fair way to judge it.

Martin was fair enough too. I think we'd spent as much as could reasonably be spent under the cap on talented young halves and someone like Martin isn't really suited to being a backup player due to his lack of experience. You want someone a bit more seasoned and preferably someone you know won't be found out defensively at NRL level. Littlejohn fits that bill well.

You know what, some of you have the wrong attitude, like teenagers crying into their pillows over being dumped by their idiot teenage boyfriend or girlfriend.

If a player leaves Wests Tigers, good riddance. I respect what some of them achieved here but I do not shed a tear or feel frustration over how they play at other clubs. They are gone, who cares what the reason is, they left and they play for the enemy now.

A few that really hurt us

Laffranchi

Teo

Gee we have lost some bloody good backrowers when you think about it

Spot on jirskyr. Some of the blokes mentioned moved on for more cash,or for more opportunity or whatever. They are gone, who cares.
None of them are losses that you lose sleep about bemoaning their loss IMO. Sure some of them would be handy at our club now but that is in hindsight.

True , but Happy would welcome some of them back in their primes again without blinking an eyelid

Poor Martin looks like being out for 12 weeks with a bad shoulder injury.

I have liked the Panthers' Kiwi second row forward Fisher Harris. I watched him and young Bayley Sironen go at it in an U20s game at Leichhardt Oval.

12 weeks if he's lucky. A fractured shoulder has a usual full recovery time of 12 months and sometimes never fully recovers.

Poor bugger is following in the footsteps of his hero with shoulder problems.

Yeah , I was thinking the same thing when it happened .
Hope the kid comes good .

We've released all these players and haven't replaced them with one elite player. Over $1m in Salary Cap and replaced them with mediocre players. How poor is our recruitment/retention?

Don't forget Asipeli Fine he hasn't made a huge impact in the dogs side but seems to have a regular gig in the starting side last couple of weeks

That was with Eastwood or origin players out, now they'll go back to:

8\. Graham
10\. Tolman
11\. Jackson
12\. Eastwood
13\. Klemmer

Don't forget Sitaleki!

He had a ripper against Parra two years back but has been a bit of a dud ever since. Had a shocker against the Sharks last weekend.

It's the injuries to Dwyer and Tuaki that kill me. We've had enough difficulty getting quality players as is and to lose two of them to freak injuries is terrible luck.

A lot has changed with our team since this thread started. Don't see that many sarcastic 'SuperCoach' comments about JT anymore.

Unfortunately we had our share of tragedies: Tuiaki, Dwyer and Fotuaika,it will take long time to recover.

You couldn't say that Tapau has set the world on fire at Manly, playing 80 " is obviously a lot different than the 15" cameos he used to bless us with.
