Reading the thread about the best player of 20 years got me thinking about players whose career’s were cut short, who if not for injury could have been great players. Being a Tigers fan, obviously the one that stands out is Simon Dwyer. Like James Dean, burst on to the scene, looked like he could have been anything, then bam. And you are forever wondering about the heights he could have reached. Rowdy is another one pre hip injury.
And an obscure one. John Doyle. Played for the Cowboys in the late 90’s-early 00’s. Played some big games for QLD, but his knees were shot and retired before he was 30.
