Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've logged into the WTF but I'm excited to finally announce a brand new project that I am working on, entitled 'Songs for Blake - Embracing Autism.'
This might come as a shock to some but 2013 has been a challenging year for us, in particular when we found out in February that our youngest boy Blake was preliminary diagnosed with Autism (or ASD - Autism Spectrum Disorder). A full diagnosis was made in August in which it was reported he was showing 'severe signs of Autism'.
Here in Melbourne, Australia, there are so many awesome resources for Blake which will hugely benefit his development through early intervention but unfortunately, as all families with children on the spectrum will know, it is a very costly process and ongoing.
Also, because we are kiwis living in Australia, there isn't any access to government funding or grants to help ease the financial burden so if we want to stay here and acquire these fabulous resources for our son to achieve the best results possible, we need to come up with the funds ourselves.
So this is where Songs for Blake comes in.
I have started gathering artists from all over the world.
Some artists are very close friends of mine, some I have had the pleasure working with in the past and, amazingly, a few artists I have idolized growing up as a teenager and in my early twenties have also kindly offered to be a part of this.
Those that know me well will appreciate this when they see the lineup confirmed so far. Misty and I are so overwhelmed as to how many artists have offered to be a part of this project. It means so much to our family.
In return, we have decided to also donate some of the albums proceeds to a few Autism organizations worldwide. I hope this means we can, in some way, help other families going through what we are at this point of time.
Please help us in spreading the word about my project and the cause.

In the coming months I will be making a 2nd announcement of bands involved and update the video and website accordingly.
Then in the new year we'll announce the final track listing & release date.
