So the obvious question that has to be asked is, why are you arguing about something which you evidently know Zero about? That's not an insult, you actually know Zero about this topic.

Catching up on my Sky news evenings tonight after giving them a miss for a while, as I do like to keep informed of alternative viewpoints, so I normally tune in, though unsurprisingly, very little has changed.
Like their political favourites, along with ones such as a PM that they have to stomach, they were very critical of the students that demonstrated last week, which shows just how little idea they have on community thinking and sentiment. The last time something similar occurred was way back in the seventies against involvement in the Vietnam war. This is another massive event in our recent history, with the kids correct back then, just as they are now. Yet as this momentous action occurred, the Liberals were going against the wishes of their local rank and file to bypass preselection and appoint their chief climate change denier in Craig Kelly, to re-contest the next election.
The coalition have long been a rudderless rabble, particularly so after dumping Turnbull to become totally shambolic and long clearly not governing for their constituents. Instead, simply focussing on themselves and now telling our concerned youngsters that have to live with their lack of action, to stay in school. We have a system of government that allows for the Governer General to intervene and if it was good enough for one to do so back when Fraser was blocking supply, today's circumstances justify similar action.

from what I read about political correctness it was initially used by Russian socialists as an insult to or about dogmatic communists who took policies too extreme so became unpractical and cruel.
The NAZIs also used "political correctness" in the opposite direction as a positive tool to describe so called good nationalist tendencies of Aryans. It was used to alienate groups of people that did not follow the politically correct line.
But it evolved over the decades to the sixties and to eighties when people's values changed and it became impolite to exclude or insult people due to race, gender etc.. Now it is a call to be decent to each other, not to unnecessarily hurt, not to separate to be inclusive.
American neo-conservatives in the eighties accused liberals of using the term in the NAZI interpretation to exclude conservatives who kept racist and gender-discrimination values.

The Liberals and some USA Republicans are worse environmentally-wise than Marg Thatcher. In her maiden speech decades ago she warned of climate change (though have not found in print yet).
The corporate type only want to put current excessive money earning above long term survival and long term money earning. We don't have the right to destroy the environment for the following generations - but we are achieving it at record rates.

Magpie Col, we will always be here but it is under what conditions and for how many and in what places. Already people at the Sunshine Coast are complaining that it is too hot and come down to Byron to go to the beach!! Typhoons will be much stronger so in coastal areas especially in Asia whole communities will be wiped out like what occurred a few years ago in the Philippines. Cyclones have become much more forceful in the past forty years. Our buildings are not engineered to with stand such forces, our electricity posts may not be even. The same with agriculture and marine lfe, all gets thrown out of sync.
I have been on this planet for over seventy years. I have been really hot and really cold. I've seen big floods and big bushfires. When I was a kid it got so hot we would cook eggs on the footpath.
All this stuff is called weather and seasons. Nothing much has changed. I'm all for a cleaner planet. But spare me the lectures from people who tell me that we really are bastards for not believing what they say is gospel.
These are the same zelots who fly around the world in private jets to tell people like me what cretins we are.
So, I ignore them and people like them. And I sleep pretty good at night.

You are entitled to your opinion col and i doubt if it will ever change.The evidence of man made climate change is overwhelming and the majority of people can see that.
It wont make a lot of impact on the rest of my life but for people who are alive in the next 30+ years weather will get more extreme and will impact on the food supply for much of the world,
It saddens me greatly knowing than when i die the world will be in a far worse state than when i entered it.
