They started recounting and OOPS the AEC lost custody of 1184 ballots. They found them a week later but something called the chain of custody was broken, i.e. "we don't know if these ballots have been tampered with". So they Called a fresh brand new election!

Compare this to 2016 in the USA.
3 states, voters ask for a recount. They are denied. Then a candidate asks for a recount as per the Electoral commission. 2 of the three states start a recount, Pennysilvania is a joke and can't do a recount, Michigan the recount starts and is underway, Wisconsin the recount gets stopped early.
Then the judges rule that even a candidate is not an "interested party". The Michigan recount is stopped.

Does their Federal government have the jurisdiction to lockdown states? They can lockdown movement in and out of the US, but I would figure the way that the US is structured imposing lockdowns on states would be a violation of states rights, unless there is a public safety loophole or something similar. I can't imagine that they could tell citizens of New Orleans or Chicago that they cannot leave the city without the Governor rubber stamping it?

The fact that it is left to the states to manage the counts and procedures for mail in ballots etc gives rise to these electoral fraud theories.

Of course not. A large proportion of Democrat voters would still be considered right wing by Australian standards, and value their freedom of movement. I don't think they will respond as well to lockdowns as us or the UK.

I'm inclined to agree, there will need to be point where it has to stop. Higher end tax cuts probably shouldn't have been greenlighted TBH. Restricting business patronage (necessary IMO,) ensuring less people are spending money and less business tax receipts as a result, and probably more lay offs to mitigate the downturn in available trade.

the u.s. don't have a job keeper so not sure how they will cope if they lockdown and what that looks like for them.

Does their Federal government have the jurisdiction to lockdown states? They can lockdown movement in and out of the US, but I would figure the way that the US is structured imposing lockdowns on states would be a violation of states rights, unless there is a public safety loophole or something similar. I can't imagine that they could tell citizens of New Orleans or Chicago that they cannot leave the city without the Governor rubber stamping it?

Says a lot about a country when free Medicare gets you badged as “radical”. Even people who live countries with free Medicare consider him radical because of it.

I note there has been a lot of political pressure applied to not air the program and I am sick to death of it. The coalition is leading the country and has been making the decisions for seven years now, so they should be held accountable without political interference, particularly as they do not adhere to nor penalise under their own ministerial code of conduct.
