That and I think some voters are on board with the LNP with social issues but not economic issues - i.e oppose Thatcherite free market, support tariffs etc. That was a big part of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon's base in the US.

It's populism that leads to fascism. Simple easy solutions for a stupid public. The stupid public tend to be racist.

What I find fascinating is that populism appears to be to the right but they are definitely against the free market. They are also against individual rights.

I watched Peaky Blinders recently and the main character stated how the far right and the far left were basically the same.

It doesn't make sense but you have to be stupid and hypocritical to go for that stuff.

Populism is democracy.

If voices are stifled their views become harder.

Populism is also hard left communism also. Green views can also be populist.

Very dangerous to stifle democracy and people's views and delegate democracy to elites who know what's best for us.

This week at Davos the WEF meets full of elites who think they know what's best for us. They are against populism and wish to narrow democracy down to relative few choices which most people feel are of secondary or worse importance.

That's what leads to extreme views, when people aren't listened to for too long.

Dominic Pettriotet said as much recently.

Dutton is the right leader for them I think Morrison was so on the nose with some of his picks for seats and a Dutton type leader should claw back some of the independent vote aka Wentworth and the like, plus the nsw pre selection rubbish that went on in Parramatta etc cost them
new leader new focus, nationals did well we will see how much people are hurting with inflation and electricity prices, do think this is a bit of a Morrison protest vote
I wouldn’t be so sure of that. Ask the women who have to deal with Dutton and you might get a different opinion.

Can someone explain the appeal of One Nation to me?

My mates tell me it's just racist boomers. Is it as simple as that?
Some voters are. Others are just disenfranchised Labor and Liberal voters lodging protest votes. Some are trade protectionists. It's a little lazy to label them all racists (not implying that you are.)

Biden is a sundowner. The US will not have our back in a fight with China. Our best bet is to remain neutral. Unnecessarily antagonising our biggest trading partner and regional superpower is not good diplomacy.
It won't be possible to remain neutral.

Albo will be told he has to up defense spending, not of course that the weapons will ever be used against other superpowers like China and Russia but to help support the U.S. military industrial complex.

They are unlikely to be made here and few technology transfers will occur so as to keep us depended on them.

Albanese's best best would be to obtain arms that can be used in a combined arms fashion by us so we can project some independent defense capability rather than items like submarines which will serve as a auxiliary U.S. force.

That way we may be able to influence the policy of our ally to be less forward against China thereby keeping the peace.

A tough balancing act.

They are voices of doom, scaremongers.

And they know that there is a large audience for them that they can target and deceive.

Much like the white supremacist, their main aim is to dominate society, and exclude other racial and ethnic groups who do not assimilate with their twisted Ideology.

But their ideology would only bring upheaval to our most orderly, wonderful and successful multicultural country in the World.

Mr Morrison described his senators' support for the motion as "regrettable", prompting Senator Cormann to apologise a short time later.

"We should have opposed the motion when it came up in the Senate yesterday [Monday]," he said.

Labor senator Penny Wong rejected the Government's explanation, saying the motion had been on the notice paper for weeks and there was no way its meaning could have been misinterpreted.

"This is just a craven and pathetic attempt to clean up your mess," she told the Senate.

"It's a phrase created by right-wing extremist groups in the United States to help convert people to the cause of neo-Nazis and groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

The Greens leader senator Richard Di Natale said the,
it’s OK to be white’ slogan has got a long history in the white supremacist movement. The motion was narrowly defeated 31-28

As others have said on here, most of the independents are professional females in wealthy areas.
Zali got reelected for a 2nd term in a previous LNP area. Can see this changing unless the LNP changes.

Has there ever been a pm for our electorate for Grayndler?

That’s pretty cool. Assuming a lot of us are from the inner west.

our most orderly, wonderful and successful multicultural country in the World.

We live in the best country. I love that I go for a walk and we get great food everywhere. My wife was born overseas. I have mates from all different ethnic backgrounds. A while ago I went to a mates house warming party and it was a Christian Tamil party. I can be ignorant as well and I never knew there were so many Indian Christians. I have extended family who are fundamentalist Muslims. I get along great with the mum who has 40 grandchildren.

Immigration has transformed this country since I was a kid and it's so much better now.

The world is awesome now despite some tougher times recently. Australia is in my opinion luckier or better put better placed than basically every country that I know of in the world.

The Teals are awesome.
I must admit I find the fawning over them being "professional women" a bit tiresome, it's typical of the entrenched snobbery in Australia - independents like Glenn Lazarus, Ricky Muir, and Jacquie Lambie did a really good job but were generally scoffed at, while the "professional women" who come from the exact same suburbs as 99% of the commentariat are already up on a pedestal.

Make sure you’re proactive brother.

If you see a job ad call to ask questions, cold call companies
Emails etc

“Hi my name is True tiger and I saw your job and I was curious about xxxx as I’ve had experience working in xxx and just wanted to clarify a few things before I submit my application “

And after you apply for a role and don’t hear back after 2-3 weeks call them back to follow up. If you’ve been rejected then ask them why? How can you improve the application. Jobs don’t come to you easily, you need to go out there and be tenacious man.

Research the companies; cafes etc
When you interview make sure it’s a dialogue where you ask questions too because you have a lot to offer any employer too. It’s a relationship,

Yeah,
And exclude your age in resume so you don't get discriminated against.

And as @trentrunciman says don't look desperate or needy passively show you have other options.
