Pfft what a joke. The abc is regularly audited to ensure they are fair to both sides. Their board is stacked with Howard govt appointees. Mark Scott is a Howard govt appointee.

Oh yes, they seem incredibly biased. When comparing them to a news outlet that sees fit to dress Labor MPs up like nazi soldiers.

On what basis does the ABC have a bias? Where is the evidence that they're under-reporting negative ALP stories and over-reporting negative Coalition stories? Where is the evidence the coverage has misrepresented a story to favour one side of politics over the other?

It's amazing you lot suddenly fire up about this supposed ABC bias just after the Murdoch Press have done the same.

LOL you obviously don't watch any programs on any ABC channels

Youu do?

Enough of the personal attacks thanks.

Once again you've been asked some questions and once again you ignore them and start talking in cliches…

It's the fallback position of conspriacy nutters too. If you don't believe there crazy theories and attempt to ask for evidence you get the sheep/kool aid/you're blind etc etc etc THe ultimate default to someone either unable to argue the point or unwilling to deal with evidence.

It will be interesting to see how the Coalition will handle the Qantas and Holden issues

The Holden one is a simple decision , with our population we will never be able to maintain a car industry , especially with a lack of an export industry for motor vehicles

And if Holden goes ,Toyota won't be far behind

Qantas is a far more delicate question

why our population happy?

pretty sure it's simply high labour costs. america has half our minimum wage and still struggles.

only reason our industry is even alive is cause of a LOT of subsidies which are pretty wasteful but to cut them is political suicide. we should just diver our resources to places we are good at, services, mining, argicultre etc.

Its a combination of things PhYr3

But we just don't have enough people especially with the vast amounts of cars /brands on the market now

But GMH need to take some responsibility for this , if they looked at an export market for the Australian made cars it might have more chance of survival

I think your assessment is spot on Happy. I think they're ready to let Holden go but the political fallout if Qantas goes under would be too much. They're going to have to do something - possibly buying back some shares to say 10% is the only way out of it. Then they can say they're acting as a part-owner rather than unfairly intervening. I guess the only other option is allowing further foreign ownership but that might not go down so well either.

The ABC is so bias!

I just can't believe how bias they are!

Somebody please save us and replace them with quality journalists!

your reference to News is irrelevant Kul… If you don't like what they right, you don't buy there product. It doesn't change the facts about the ABC's bias.

Australians have always turned to the ABC for non-bias reporting under the knowledge this organisation is funded by the Australian Taxpayer and therefore only has the charter to provide clear and precise information. It does not have the charter to side with any side of the political sphere, and in doing so, the people who fund it are now questioning why should they fund a model which no longer provides the exact precise it is designed to.

I'm referring more to the hypocrisy of News Limited regarding the subject.

The Holden situation is interesting.

Watching known Coalition mouthpieces like Miranda Divine turning it into an anti Union bend and blaming wage and benefit levels and not mentioning tariffs etc.

Toyota have openly stated the push by the Unions for ridiculous payrises could be the catalyst to pack up shop…

They have basically advised the union what you will get this, like it or lump it.

Pretty smart position to take against the Lego Workers Union!

I too have had enough of our ABC. We as a community should be in uproar at how we have been treated by the management and staff of this public institution for so many years.

How dare they provide us with any semblence of a balanced story. We deseve to hear more cliches, rhetoric and slogans, and they have the hide to give us facts and figures. Who cares if 97 odd % of scientists in the field believe human pollution and clearing attributing to climate change.

Luckily Piers Akerman also works at the ABC, it is unbiased opinions such as his and the thoughts of the other **3 or so %** that is much more important. Surely he deserves more coverage than a page in the Sydney print media bastion of truth and a political slot on tv. The ABC should give him more air time to match his peers such as Hadley and Jones.

I, like anonymous above, am so glad that we now have a coalition government to "provide clear and precise information" about things, like those despicable people tryng to get into our country by boat.

Toyota won't last more than 12 months Watto

Time to drop tariffs and make overseas vehicles more affordable

Was always going to happen , Labor were just trying to keep the Unions happy
