Magpie, is it only a right wing forum, this one? You, of course, distinguish yourself as a typical exponent of right wing lunacy by pigeon-holing anything you don't agree with as coming from the "left". Maybe. they're just expressing an opinion, which is all you're doing after all. But, for the record, you tell us who we should NOT be listening to (ABC, Sarah Hansen-Young), how about you tell us who we should be listening to? Who provides the pearls of wisdom that makes Magpie Col happy with the world? I'm sure they'll stand the scrutiny of the rest of us just waiting to know who they are. C'mon. be brave!!

Good luck with this LCA, I doubt you will get a reasonable response, if any.

It's obvious isn't it? Ray Hadley and Alan Jones. The true pillars of wisdom!

Well, thanks formerguest and Cultured Bogan, but I want to hear from Magpie Col. Where is he? What happened to courage, Magpie Col? And, for the record, I find enlightenment through the work of Waleed Aly. The most intelligent, politically-neutral, insightful broadcaster around. But he is on Radio National. I am not sure Magpie Col's tuner knob extends that far left on the radio dial?

Magpe Col! Where are you?? How are we ever going to learn about our misunderstanding of this ridiculous government if you don't tell us who informs you?? Are they that embarrassing? Maybe one of them is off work to sort out his marriage? Maybe another one is doing what he does best; pleasing fellow travellers of the London tube?

Maybe Col will have a look. There is more truth to be learnt by listening to representatives such as Senator Ludlam for five minutes, than can be gathered in a year from those that others above have suggested he may be listening to.

I also liked Adam Bandt's recent comment when questioned regarding the about face by the treasurer after being rolled AGAIN by Abbot and the other "free market radicals" in cabinet.

"It might play out well in a year twelve economics class at Scots College, but not in the real world"

But, where is Magpie Col? Does anyone know him? Is he ok? I may disagree with his ridiculous comments and the putrid ideology of those he seems to support, but, after all, he is a fellow Tiger. So, I care about him….to some extent. Maybe he's with Alan? Or helping Ray deal with the realisation that he's a complete buffoon? If either is true he will be one very busy man.

Anyone hear Albo's comment during Parliament in regards to Bronwyn Bishop

If not this is it

"If Souths played Manly and the penalty count was 98-0 the fans would be jumping the fences"

Well Albo in reply If the penalty count was 98-0 to Souths v Manly I'd know one thing

Greg "Hollywood" Hartley hadn't come out of retirement

Secondly seeing Manly don't travel you might get 50 ,jump the fence

Thirdly the presso with Geoff Toovey would be funniest thing ever seen and would go viral and become the most viewed press conference in the history of press conferences

O'Farrell gone and could face perjury charges for lying to ICAC.

I'm curious what everyone thinks of the proposed 'levy'? (well the rumor of one)

"not happy Jan" :imp:
we contribute enough taxes at the moment.

if the so called " leader" of the country was fair dinkum, **the first thing** he would do is to he would **eliminate all privileges** that all members of parliament past and present get.

but he won't 'cause he doesn't have the balls to.

We have a structural taxation deficit of about three and a half percent, so something has to be done. Our current government debt is far from the cause of action needing to be taken, rather a symptom/result of it.

Peter Costello set a table of tax cuts that were mostly carried out late in the Howard era. The Rudd government were also complicit as they should have cancelled the final round that came into effect about nine months into their term and the global financial crisis had already hit as well.

Our nation would have produced a surplus for every year bar one since, had those (ridiculous) cuts not been made. The USA also has a structural deficit inplace that was created concurrently to ours by the Bush administration.

Well said mate.

It's going to hurt his vote, no doubt about it. Glad we have someone in power who has the guts to make the call regardless. I'm also saying this when I haven't received any benefits, but will be paying a fair whack of this for other peoples cash handouts etc.

It frustrated me though that they don't have enough guts to look at taxing super. It's the god damn Boomer vote that continues to drive policy.
