Unfortunately our road transport has been designed virtually solely for motor vehicles for the past 50 years. So with 2 million bikes they have no choice and the right to take over most of the traffic lanes coming up north. Many of course would take the old highway to have more stops and being more interesting meeting up with country cousins etc..

The only good thing the motorways did was to level a lot of big hills/mountains also making it easier for bikes. There would be fantastic personal contact as can chat to all and sundry whilst cycling - instead of trying to run each off the roads with vehicles. A head on crash would be a laugh off after a few chosen words. Bikes could be repaired on the spot. No millions of litres of petrol burnt causing pollution and blowing out our balance of trade balances. How many big guts would disappear? It would begin a whole new way of life for many. They would be throwing away unnecessary medications by journeys end.

2 million more bikes on the road?
Time to make a bigger bullbar then.

The value for running a cyclist over would drop to less than the amount of running a cane toad over

You'd have to run over big groups of them over to make it worth it

But you forgot that just like Mick Jagger we hired Hells Angels for escort duties and they have copied Filipino bikie assassination squads - bullets are a lot cheaper than bull bars!

(stated purely for arguing purposes these guys are not worth a bullet and being hopeless characters they can't even afford juice for their biosphere-destroying guzzlers).

Pauline Hanson wants to force all migrants to speak English - hers is not a very good example of English for someone being here about 60 years.

Whey would you move to a country and not learn the language?

:crazy

Most learn to a functional stage, if they haven't means they had other people to translate for them. But non speaking is dangerous in life and death situations and frustrating in hospitals etc.. Not all people are good at languages and is either often language or maths. The maths ones are smarter even if they cannot speaka da lingo very well.

If people come at a later stage of their lives it is not that easy, rich business people are included amongst these and the OZ govt wants their investment dollars brought over. See money talks even if the owner cannot.

Not entirely true Byron. I fume when I get to job sites where OHS is meant to be ridiculously tight, and when you're in the induction meetings you have a squad of Vietnamese guys lob up, one can speak basic English and is acting as interpreter for the rest. That's not conducive to a safe work place when the leading hand would not at times be able to understand the site foreman's instructions, never mind the rest of his workmates. This happens quite often in my experience.

Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon wants to be carried around in the Queens gold carriage that would become a massive security problem as it is unprotected and cannot be made so. Imagine the Queens famous gold carriage getting blown up because of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon - She would not be amused.

The British Monarch who else - determined by Lord Fuddy Duddy's pants and Mrs Just Lie Back And Think Of Mother England's nickboekers. That is not led by people chosen on their merit but the magic juice.

Oh…he also wanted Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander communities to secede from Australia.
Real good work isn't it?

Ok fair enough, that's not a good stance or one that I would ever agree with! It's just something else that I didn't know and thanks for enlightening me.

Your last two posts are a whole lot better than the _Bob Brown was a dangerous lunatic and all round idiot_ response to BBF's post, which I was alluding to. It's ignorant to just call people names and throw out personal insults, but giving the reasons why you don't agree with his policies in a healthy (non-aggro) debate is good.

Let's not forget how he stood in parliament before the first Gulf war and begged John Howard and the American government to help the Kurds. A year later he denounced the invasion and called it a crime. That's the Bob Brown I remember

At least you got it Byron.

I shouldn't be surprised that Col is a monarchist as well.
