The NSW premier is playing some really cheap and grubby politics.

Dividing the people of Sydney, by pointing the finger of blame at people in the southwest.

Even though the virus numbers got out of control in another area after avoiding putting a sharp, short lockdown in place.

The people in this other area were also encouraged to get outside, go to the shops if need be.....

Our politicians have found a way to disappear, the act was perfected by great wizard chairman Dan Xi of Victoria. It looks like the PM managed to successfully repeat the disappearance act!

Yeah one dude slipped over, broke several ribs and his back, and the other just goes missing when the heat is on. Totally comparable.

Can't blame the Eastern Suburbs yuppies, they're the ones that will return her to power.

Slipped over, pushed over, threw himself down a set of stairs, whatever. He's obviously been ill as he's a lot slimmer than before, like he's lived on a drip for a bit.

I'm surprised no premier has necked themselves with the way they've all been left adrift by the feds. That goes for any premier, Lib or ALP.

So now two of you with similar thoughts, so you must seriously believe that someone with multiple serious back injuries should not have recuperated?

Wow, especially when the leader you are deriding showed up every single day for months to answer questions literally for hours.

Ah, now I know where the 31% of Australian voters are who still think Labor are a viable political force. A quick review of comments on here reassures me that Labor will continue to sink into oblivion, where of course, they deserve to be. Don't bother replying, as I wont read it.

I can't believe how low the media is stooping with the current situation with the son who didn't get see his Mum before she passed

When the news media needs to use a bloke who is clearly devastated by what has happened ...to sell a story

Yes the Qld govt has got it wrong .....but why not go after Qld Health ...or better still get the poor young fella a suit and let him ask the Premier why and how this is still happening .....

3 separate interviews from 3 separate media outlets ...bloody disgraceful ......anyone who has lost a parent knows how you can barely function in these times .....

Why aren't the Govt holding our media to the greater social reponsibility .....just as bad as how the Qld Govt has treated him .....

THE ULURU STATEMENT AND THE VOICE OF TYRANNY

‘I shall play the role of my State of Queensland, my Aboriginal race, my background, my political beliefs and my knowledge of men and circumstances dictate. This I shall do through the grace of God to benefit all Australians.
For more than 20,000 years, my people have loved this country and appreciated its beauty and its capacity to provide for human need. Throughout that long period, those of my race developed many traditions and one generation has passed to another, respect for these traditions.
There are traditions which are preserved and honoured in the Australian Commonwealth Parliament also; and the awareness of these traditions, and the long and illustrious line of people who have upheld them in the interest of freedom and democracy, makes me humble as I realise the privilege and double responsibility which has been bestowed upon me.’

~ Neville Bonner, the first Aboriginal Australian to become a member of the Parliament of Australia. extract from Maiden Speech, 8.26 pm 8 September 1971

“Your Life Your Vote: Take Control has a clear message for those elites who control
Australia’s publicly-funded, multi-billion dollar ‘indigenous industry’, which produces
little except division. This ‘industry’ is hand in glove with those politicians and political
parties, who’ve maliciously isolated, silenced, exploited & taken for granted the majority
of Aboriginal people. That message is – Enough is Enough. Aboriginal Australians will not
be used as ‘polling booth fodder’ any more for divisiveness and ridiculous extreme Left
ideas.

Meanwhile, we have yet another federal minister accused of sexual misconduct and still sitting in cabinet after allegedly assaulting a fellow coalition member yet no reasonable investigation once again.

Maybe we will get another charade analysis from the PMO, but more than likely just more disinformation and backgrounding which seems to have been our disgusting leader's go to even before being elected in removing the better candidate in Towke who beat him in pre-selection.

One thing I will say, it should not be left to non-Indigenous Australians to make decisions for the Indigenous community. They know the needs of their community better than anyone and they need to ensure they are getting representation in government by putting in Indigenous candidates.

I've said it previously, there's no homogenous Indigenous voice. They are 200 odd smaller nations whose cultures, politics and languages all varied. What might work for an indigenous person in suburban Sydney might not work for a person in Arnhem land. They need to represent themselves at all levels across the country.

Its a tricky one IMO. I feel strongly that the Aus Govt should be a government for ALL Australians equally. You dont want the situation where one group can claim to live under a different law to others. Obviously indigenous Australians have a unique position being the original Aussies here prior to Westminster law.

I agree with you about the problem of unifying an"indigenous voice". The needs of someone in Arnhem Land or even Walgett are completely different to an indigenous person 4th generation housing commission in the city.

I really liked the idea (I think from the Uluru Statement from the heart?) of forming an indigenous council within parliament with members somehow voted in by the indigenous people. This Council does not have a say on general law in parliament but can advise parliament and has a vote on aspects directly involving indigenous matters. Playing devils advocate, the risk with this would be that anything could be argued to impact indigenous people and that the council would get a vote which would mean that one section of Australian citizens would get disproportional voice which would be dangerous IMO.

My point is that if Indigenous Australians want representation, they are best served when they are represented by Indigenous MP's and Senators.

I think all situations have their pros and cons, notwithstanding that matters and issues are not seen universally across the Indigenous community.

I'd like to know what the Indigenous Australians on this forum think?

The current PM has seemingly done very little when it comes to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

There's a whopping one media release in 2021 on the Prime Minister and Cabinet Indigenous Affairs page.

Nothing on his Instagram for Naidoc Week. In fact, nothing relating to first nations people, ever?

The only thing I can recall is that he got his knickers in a knot when someone even dared question moving Australia Day.

I never thought I'd stick up for Tony Abbott, but at least he seemed to have a crack, albeit sometimes with his foot in his mouth (i.e lifestyle choices).

Unbelievable regarding inaction on NAIDOC week. Even on a cynical token basis yo uwould think they would have a generic process in place to "tick the box".

Tony Abbott was a poor PM but would be the most honest PM with the most integrity we have had since probably Howard and has the most integrity. Obviously many disagree with his POV but at lesat we all knew the truth about him and he doesnt pretend.

Can't agree on the Howard bit, with the lies to take us into the horrors of Iraq and the children overboard stunt for starters, but just another example of why I hate Morrison.

Mind you, Dutton would likely be similarly poor and he walked on from Rudd's sorry address. They both pander to the fringe for their votes.
