POLL - Maguire 2019/Bennett 2020

I'm fine with either. Both have their pros and cons, but the quality of players Bennett could attract for recruitment wins him my vote

The possibility of getting TPJ and Oates see’s Wayne get my vote.

Mathew Lodge is also unsigned.
I know he is a DH and caused damage to the Tigers brand.
He is heaps better than what we have got ATM, maybe with the exception of Alex T.

Bennett 2019, great, but gap year to be avoided if at all possible. Thus I voted for Maguire, who will be keen as to silence the doubters.

The current muppet only took sixteen months to bring this joint to it's knees, so stuffed if I want to drift for another twelve months with Kermit wanting out and caged in the transit lounge.

I like the fact Bennett could bring Oates and TPJ, it is just the waiting 12 months, things change, people change their minds, we could end up losing out, look what happened in the last 3 months.
I haven't voted yet, still deciding, either way Cleary can't stay here for 2019, and we need a resolution ASAP, I am putting faith in TYGA that will be very shortly.

It’s been 13 years since we held the trophy and 7 since we made finals, I’d be happy to wait 12 months to get those type of players at our club.

I have said that I would not wait for Bennett in 2020, I honestly think he will be paid out and marched if he signs on for 2020\. Broncos will go the Ivan argument that his head nor heart will be there in 2019.

Maguire for me,
If we wait till 2020 for Bennet and Maguire decides to sign on with the Bronco’s from 2020, there is always the possibility Bennet could retire if he has a successful 2019 and we could end up with neither.
The thought that Bennet could bring with him Tpj and Oates is nice but I rather take Maguire now.

Bennett has forgotten more than Madge will ever know.

+ corporate dollars, + players he brings/attracts - It's Unca all the way for me.

Bennett for me. He would be a huge signing for our club. The exposure alone that he would bring would be worth it. Then you add in the possibility of bringing players, developing a winning culture, and setting us up for the future, makes him clearly the best option IMO

Unca for me

We need a break and for the first time one of the league's protected species is in our sights.

The coaching equivalent of signing cam Smith for a farewell season

I'd be happy with either but I'd rather we get some finality about our coaching situation sooner rather than later so the incoming coach can start their planning and inform the playing group of how things will move forward.

There are arguments for both coaches to be appointed over the other, along with different advantages that come with the two.

With Wayne, there’s always the question of being content as he is getting quite old and wouldn’t mind a pay day and the doubt regarding whether his heart is in it around the idea of building this club much alike Cleary promised and we all know how that went

Then there’s the thought that Wayne doesn’t have many years left with being a head coach as the man is 70, especially if you’re comparing it to a relatively young and healthy coach setting us up for a long term solution whereas Wayne ultimately would be a short term solution

But with Wayne you know he won’t come alone, where the main advantage with Wayne is not only would he bring in his own team surrounding the coaching staff which we know has been successful overtime hoping to translate it to the Wests Tigers…. but also the marquee players he could attract to turn us from pretenders to contenders such as a TPJ, Oats and Lodge - and I’m sure there are plenty more

Another positive Wayne possess is the experience he has which compares to no coach the NRL has ever forecome too - the man has coached more times than anyone in the history of this game his legacy would bring a lot of attraction to the club

However, there’s the option of Madge who we know has been successful and was a key reason to the Bunnies winning the premiership and breaking there curse of like 50-60 years of not winning one - he’s also the more young and hungry option where you’re confident to say you know he’s not content and wants to prove a point that he’s a top class coach which I believe he is

Then there’s the whole philosophy of him being a long servant within the club - I don’t think we need another coach for 2-3 years then replace him which I’m sure Wayne would probably be as we’ve had I think 4 coaches in like 6 years and if Wayne leaves after 2-3 years it’ll be the 5th coach in like 8-9 years which is pretty damming.

However there’s the idea that Madge pushes his team too hard to the point where there bodies are too tired to compete which does explain the downfall of the bunnies following there premiership victory

If I had to pick one.... I’d go Wayne due to him being able to attract marquee players and if we were to snatch 2 of either TPJ, Oats and Lodge I reckon we can go pretty far.

I would vote Bennett 2020 but doesn't say what may happen in 2019.
If it's Cleary 2019 then I'd rather Madge 2019 for my vote.
If it's a caretaker 2019 then there is a whole different discussion…

Can't vote on this one sorry.

Assuming no Bennett in 2019 I would lock up Maguire ASAP.
He is at least the equal of Cleary without the baggage or B.S.
Bennett is too unpredictable to count on going forward.

Agree with statement about 2019, but I will add

Mags is more successful thank cleary.

I hope the tigers dont be stupid to pull the pin.

Cleary to get paid by Tigers in 2019 would make me crazy

And, what if he wins the 2019 Premiership, at the Bronco’s.
All bets may be off then!!
