That post didn't work this year lets hope you have more success with it in 2015 and the years to come.–--------------------------->

The bit about overlooking Parish and Folkes is the bit I like,Parish should be allowed nowhere near a NRL team, let alone ours.

DUMPED Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter will push through the worst period of his football career because he is mentally “tough.”

Potter’s contract has not been renewed for next season, with the club ending his controversial tenure at Concord on Wednesday morning.

Wests Tigers CEO Grant Mayer has already started canvassing possible replacements.

In a text exchange with The Daily Telegraph on Thursday, Potter revealed his feelings at being axed after two years in charge of the club.

“I’m fine,” Potter said. “I’m just letting the dust settle.

“Obviously I’d prefer not to be in this situation.

“But I also understand the (coaching) industry. It’s tough.

“I’d like to think I’m the same.”

REVEALED: TIGERS COACHING CANDIDATES

Potter’s demise has split the club’s fan base. Some felt he had to go, while others thought Potter deserved another chance under the club’s new, refined board.

The club has not yet approached any candidates but Nathan Brown, Anthony Griffin, John Cartwright, Todd Payten, David Kidwell and Jason Taylor are said to be under consideration. Steve Folkes and Matt Parish have also been mentioned but will be overlooked.

Brown certainly has claims, as does Griffin, who has expressed an interest in the Wests Tigers’ job.

Griffin’s success rate with Brisbane stands at only 45 per cent but he would bring some much-needed Brisbane culture to Concord.

Wests Tigers assistant coaches David Kidwell and Todd Payten are likely to be interviewed too.

MAYER: I DIDN’T HANG POTTER

Outgoing Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Griffin is on the list to replace Potter.

Wests Tigers CEO Grant Mayer said the club had delayed starting their search for a new coach out of respect for Potter.

“The club insisted, as I did, that nothing would be done regarding the 2015 head coaching position until a call was made on Mick and he had been spoken to,” Mayer said.

“Now, 24 hours on, we need to go through an exhaustive search for the best possible candidate. The club will not make any comment on any candidate at any stage.”

Brown’s St Helens side is currently contesting the Super League semi-finals. He had success at St George Illawarra and will no doubt attract intense debate at Concord.

Cartwright is another highly regarded coach. He was sacked by Gold Coast several weeks ago but remains respected and has worked with Wests Tigers skipper Robbie Farah at representative level.

Folkes, 55, is likely to be discussed but hasn’t coached at NRL level for six years. He has though been a strength and conditioning coach, and an assistant coach, at Wests Tigers.

I for one want potter back as a coach for another year and be given the chance to have full control of the team and his support staff of choice. I want Mayer out as he is not a true leader he is just a faceless man and only appears when everything is going well. A true ceo will come out and face every situation with passion and balls. Let's start a partition to get potter back…

@851,good read,if Folkes and Parish are overlooked fair enough but so should Payten and Kidwell..If we are to start a clean slate in my opinion they both should go,no hangers on.The new coach whoever that is doesn't need excess baggage…...Griffin or Cartwright would do me,we do need a strong coach for our senior players as well as developing the young players.....as for mine I liked Potter and he did very well with the younger players
