Potter Gone - Contract Not renewed! Official!

I think Precilla Queen of the Desert would be a better choice than Parish, at least she would add some glamour to the bloody place, and I couldn't give a rats what anyone thinks about THAT..

I'd be inquiring about Steve Folkes.
We played great when he was here last.

At the moment he is coaching the Jillaroos, i'm sure he would prefer an NRL head coaching gig.

They would be screaming from the reaming with Folkes , the players would drop tools if he was named

And not due to his coaching ability either.
More so because they wouldn't like the hard work.
He'd sort out a lot of what we need imo.

Kent on 360 reckons that the club is now leaning towards Folkes , he probably knows crap but we will find out

If we did take Folkes , I reckon it will be hard to find an experienced GM that will work well with him

Stop Blaspheming you blasphemer

The only thing Parish should be under is the wheels of the bus that's about to drive past

Potter should have been given the power to choose his own support staff and he wasn't given that instead he was give a team of backstabbers who wanted his job. I think he could have gotten us in the top 8 if he wasn't sabotaged by the people closest to him. Now that potter has been shown the door so should Paten and Kidwell as there just as much to blame for the way the team finished up. Potter has my support he was the victim of the boys club that still alive and well even after Benji.

I would go for Daniel Anderson as coach, he can coach and would be just the man to take the club forward.

If I could pick any coach it would be Ivan Clearly but we have no chance of him coming.

I also think Nathan Brown or Jason Taylor would be good choices as in my opinion both will become very good coaches at NRL level.

I would love to have Steve Folkes back as our strength and conditioning coach but not as our head coach.

The assistants that the new coach picks will be very important and I for one wold love to see either Brett Kirmorely or Brad Fitler as the halves coach.

Interestingly now….the club says " the head coach will have full control of the playing roster and assistants etc etc.....pity you didn't offer the same to Potter.

I hope this a sign of the positive influence of the new board.

Farah and Woods played state of origin this year and for the last six weeks or so of the competition proper they played like reserve graders. I have lost all respect for those two but especially for Robbie who was my favourite player not that long ago.

Wha? You are kidding. In Woodsy's last three games he averaged 145m and over 30 tackles.

How much juice you want to squeeze out of a Lemon :unamused: , some fans are hard to please .

You get the feeling that Potter was always going to be the fall guy

Get rid of Sheens and Marshall and wear two seasons of pain until we pay Sheens contract out

Sad news :frowning: I like Potter. He handled everything that was thrown at him, with class and dignity. Politics and self interest played a part in this final decision. His hands were tied from the start. He was never given a chance, or allowed to succeed. Shame really. I wish you and your family all the best and good luck for the future Mr Potter!

My concern with all the Candidates available we are in the same situation as when we got Potter ?

1\. Nathan Brown : would be the same situation as Potter , it's been to long since he coached in the NRL , had a star studded side when coached the Dragons but was very inexperienced and young , would be a punt .
2\. David Kidwell : No experience as an NRL Coach but has been Bellamy's understudy , can't help to think that this guy helped drive Potter's nail in his coffin , Wouldn't be my choice only cause he was associated with our club this year . Want new beginning
3\. Todd Payten : This is tough cause love Toddy , big + for him is that he Coached most of those under 20's that won the Grand Final for him a couple of year's ago and are now in 1st grade , he know's our Culture like no other , my only worry is that he has played with a couple of our current 1st graders and can strain relationships. For me has to be seriously considered
4\. Kevin Walters : untried Coach at NRL Level , learn't his trade under Bennett and later assisted Bellamy , on Fox Commentary he seems a bit slow in his Communication skills and would not be the type you could take seriously as a Coach . No Thanks .
5\. Matt Parish : I'm not sold on this guy at all has been Ricky Stuart's assistant for a couple of year's , but then again who rates Ricky Stuart as a Coach ? seriously ? Parish is a Balmain boy who i used to watch at Leichardt growing up and i can see the Wests supporters sharpening there knives if he is appointed . No Thanks .
6.Anthony Griffin : Has heaps of NRL experience but with the Cattle he's had ? should be a top 4 side . He plays to direct for me and a real boring style of play , tries to come across as he's the boss , but hasn't earn't the respect from his players (previously) , just what it appears could be very wrong.
7.Jason Taylor : seemed like he started to do some good things at Parra a few year's ago and went on that winning stretch then embarrassed himself as a piss head with the Faologo incident . Not my Choice
8.Tim Sheens : No thanks , have to move on from him , i would be shocked if it's even crossed the Board's mind with him , Surely not .
9\. Daniel Anderson : Interesting with this guy ? reminds me of Brian Smith in that he has gotten to the Grand Final but can't crack it , he would bring a heap of Stability to our Club , no nonsense sought of a bloke .

I think Parish will be appointed don't know why but just a feeling , very coincidental with events when he quit Stuart's assistant at the time , Speculation of sacking Potter at that famous Board meeting that didn't eventuate.
There will be many Candidates throwing there hat in the Ring but seriously don't waste our time with many of them .

My Choice would be John Lang if he was available .

I like Daniel Anderson but I think he publicly stated his coaching days are over.

Does anyone have thoughts on Dave Furner? I thought he did a good job given the cattle he had to work with. I think he did get shafted from the raiders.

I have read "hoss" Cartwright is also interested

Daniel Anderson is currently Parra's GM of Football Operations… He's very happy in that role.
Perhaps we should be poaching him not as our coach but for the other open role.

Well get the crap out of here and support souths.

Im not surprised by the decision but saddened nonetheless.I feel Mick was trying to do a job with his hands tied, but despite all the problems he encountered he remained dignified and honest.Best of luck in the future MIck Potter, i for one appreciated all your efforts.

Does anyone have Potter's email address

I wouldn't mind sending an email of condolence and thanks

He was a class act and deserved better

Judging by the last six weeks, they'll have taken his keys, changed the locks and seized his hard drive by now…
