@NT Tiger said:@mctiger said:Whether he can coach or not there is too much baggage in keeping him on. To quote from the movie "We are Marshall" where the coach addresses his team after a loss:
"Now I’m proud of you. But I will not accept losing with you. Because there’s only one thing they judge us on. There’s only one thing people remember. And it ain’t how we play the game."
In the end, nice guy or not, injuries or not, we didn't win enough games.
What a load! As if Potter had any chance of making a similar quote "Now I’m proud of you. But I will not accept losing with you" with the situation he inherited. He had no choice in the player roster, had no choice in his assistants, was undermined from above. Complete BS.[/quote
No say in Keith Leluia, Pat Richards, Corey Paterson, Martin Tapau? Definitely no say in our juniors because they were already in the system. Mick cant be blamed for everything that went wrong in the second half of the season but as head coach he must be a leader that inspires the team and earns the respect of the assistants - results on the field don't support that. Injuries didn't help Mick's cause - nor did Gordon Tallis.
