POTTER OF GOLD

The guy has given our club respect, which others weren't willing to give to him. I never doubted him. Where still a fair way away from being a premiership heavy weight, but I'm really liking what I see. This guy has instilled belief, and from a small budget he's made some excellent buys. I personally think Teddy will stay just like Woods has. Potter will also bring star signings to our club. Mayer sign him now.

Potter has delivered simiar results everywhere he's gone,so no surprises really, although NRL is truly the acid test.
Having said that, even Im surprised re the quality of off season signings plus the accelerated development of the younger players, which we previewed last season whilst his job was on the line.
Not a bad combo for success I guess.

Potter is doing a great job with the players he has plus the fact this year is really his first as last year was a complete right off, due to many factors.

Agree - Great Coach.

He is so good for our club and what we want to achieve.

Where is the cheque book Grant.

Don't let him get away.

Im delighted for him the way we are playing. If we avoid major injuries I not no doubt we will make the Top 8 playing this brand of football.

The fans were happy when we signed him, and the fans stuck by him last seasons when he was given incredibly unfair flack in the press. Ok he might have made some mistakes however he walked into a train wreck

This seasons first 5 rounds is the most excited I have been about the Tigers in a long time. Yes it is early days however the things he is putting in place and his budget signings have hit the mark so far.

Came here on minimal coin wanting to prove himself. He had no NRL coaching experience and was considered mostly an unknown. He had the challenge of dealing with some of the game's biggest personalities/egos, but also one of the best crops of junior talent in the league. He's tapered down Farah's game, brought along a whole heap of our juniors to be consistent first graders, and had the guts to make a huge call on getting rid of Benji. So far he's navigated everything perfectly.

and so many ppl were calling for his head early on, he always needed time to build his own team. its great to see him succeeding.

I don't recall many reasoned posters calling for his head. I recall the opposite. The media were trying to hound him out and Tigers fans in general were sticking by him. Because thy knew he had walked into a basket case and it would take 12 months before he could get his coaches, his players and his playing style.

Turfing Benji was either an A+ move or a big bullet dodged. Not exactly sure how it all played out however I;m sure deep down Potter was delighted when Marshall chucked a wobbly.

Plenty were head hunting him on here and other forums, ''hes too quiet', ''players hate him'' ..''.hes lost the shed''….all manner of crap

I always said - give him three years - maybe I was wrong

I think Potter, management and many fans were glad Benji walked. It was the best result for the club as we would not have had the money left to sign anyone else with what he was gunna get.
There was a great many on here who wanted Potters head last year and this year. Dont hear them now though…...............

I was calling for his head. As noted above happy to be proven wrong. Not convinced yet but very close.

Its a funny game when does anyone be convinced of anything?
15 teams will fail this year
Warriors lap us last week
Winless sharke lap them yestterday
Titans only lose one game a pathetic display to us, they now running first
Lots more twists in this cats tail

We do have a third year option with him ,don't we Ink ??

I think it was always only a two year gig to begin with….not sure on options either way happy

There has been a marked change in attitude in the players this year...well dont to whoevers responsible ie: all the coaching staff & players

let's not forget the inclusion of kidwell and payten as well..

i have a feeling we may promote payten next year instead of retaining potter for some reason tbh

…not to mention the dramatic changes in the team without benji. Watching today and just seeing brooks hold the ball and take a hit made me so glad they no longer play hot potato or jinky league or "get out of bounds ball!".

And as previously mentioned, reigning in farah has been hugely holistically beneficial as well.

The new style and attitude is awesome! :sign:

Happy to brag here, Potter is proving me right.

He is almost the total opposite of Sheens and this is more in line with a "development" club needs. Hard Work Discipline and Defense is what we needed all those last few years.

The Absence of Benji (Not bagging him at all) has put every player on almost equal terms and they no longer look to him to get them out of jail. The Team knuckles down and each play their part.
