Potter stated on radio this morning that now the season is over we will be looking to next year and he plans to blood some youngsters over the next few weeks.

Lets hope so!

Haven't the Tigers been blooding youngsters all season?

Tedesco, Nofa, Simona, Sironen, Sue, Buchanan, Ava… not to mention the aged vets like Woods & BMM...

How much younger can we make the first team squad without harming their development?

I'm guessing the nrl granted us an exemption considering we are now no chance of making the finals. Hopefully Lovett, Brooks, Moses and Brown all get decent game time in their favoured positions.

how?? with the salary cap 2nd tier??

Imagine that he will bring back some of the younger players who he has already tried and replace the older blokes

Ie Koroibete in for Ayshford and put Simona in the centres

Can't see us being allowed to bring in Brooks or the like unless they are prepared to risk a fine that we can't already afford

If second teir is still a problem why not drop some of our young stars back to NSW cup so they can work on combinations for next year. Would most likely make the semis, so could have up to 10 games together.

the team could look something like this

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Simona
4\. Rudolph
5\. Koroibete
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks
8\. Buchanan
9\. Luani
10\. Ava
11\. Lovett
12\. Sironen
13\. Sue

14\. Gavet
15\. Davis
16\. Farlow
17\. Taqele N

I know this would mean we would not have a great finish in NRL but at least we could get a look at these youngsters playing together.

I know this will never happen but was just thinking of a way around building for next year.

I'm a huge fan of this idea. As you said it will never happen but it would help combinations drastically and would also allow the players who haven't debuted to play against better opposition.

I am mates with a guy who is mates with Luke brooks and I am told that the tigers have evidently been given permission for Luke brooks to make his debut this season and that the parra game is the one they are going to do it.. Not claiming it as concrete but it's what I was told a week ago and thought I would pass it on

The second tier exemption now kicks in and we can play some younger guys.
Thanks for the heads up on Brooks and the Parra game that makes sense..then Roosters and Souths that will be a great initiation .

Two things to be mindful of.

Cant have too many youngens as we must unsure that the dreaded Wooden Spoon is avoided

And

The positive that we dont have to rush injured players back for no reason.

Funny thing with Brooks is I don't want him in a side with Benji.

No need to expose him to that kind of rubbish

People that say you can't have too many youngsters in the same team, do you really think that having anyone replacing Benji/Anasta in the halves can't be anything but beneficial to the team? If the youngster can out perform a senior player then why not have a team full of youngsters!

The senior players are causing the team serious harm time and time again. Even if the youngsters don't play well they can only be as bad as the seniors, and they will at least learn from it.

Especially in the case of Brooks, where his inclusion will highly increase our chances of winning any of our remaining games.

I'd much rather have a backline made up entirely of rookies having a go and developing their skills at a higher level than senior players playing poorly and with bad attitude. The team has a better chance of winning, and so will only have a more positive impact on the rookies already playing.

Throwing in an extra 1-2 young players a game over the next few weeks won't harm them or the team. Brooks is the most likely to step up. Sitaleki also possible. Maybe even Lovett or Brown off the bench for 10-15 mins. Moses won't play NRL this season while Mr T is still injured for a few more weeks I think.

Look I think Potter will blood some new guys in the next month but I would expect it to be a couple, maybe 3 at best. What I do think could happen is that we could see some players moved around in order to prepare for next season. For example. If Simona is being viewed as a centre, we could see him moved into the centres and Koroibete come back onto the wing. Yes, Pat Richards could play centre instead but I feel Potter will want to have a look at Tim in the centres.
Another likely move is for Sironen to play some back row. He started off there last night and had some good carries. I'd expect Sironen to be named in the 7 this week. In the weeks ahead I see Brooks coming onto the bench and forcing Sironen into the back row when he comes on.

For me the only guys I expect to come into the side out of last night's 17 are Woods (obviously), Koroibete and Brooks at some point. Potter may well want to look at others too but if that happens I see these guys replacing other young guys,

One thing I will tell you and most of you already know this, there is a snow flakes chance in hell that they will drop Marshall on his farewell tour no matter how badly he plays,
He was diabolical last night but I bet with Farah he is the fist name on the team sheet.

What I can see is brooks getting a run in a couple of weeks with sirro shifting to the bench or back row and Marshall at 6 what I don't know is if playing along side Marshall will it do more harm than good for Books.

Don't have an issue with us playing some of the less intimidating sides with the youngsters but to throw them up against Souths or the Rooster will do more harm than good

Big al how would you like to replace roycie as assistant coach lol. This is a very very smart idea for the reasons you have given but it will allow benji to finish in first grade ( form doesn't warrant it but the season is gone and we should probably give him the respect of finishing in 1st grade). I do think if we can give brooks a game against not just parra but one of the power house teams too would tell us a few things
