Potter to take reins from Sheens

From the man himself this morning. He hasn't heard anything back from Wests Tigers after interview. All the different boards are arguing over who they want as coach. If Potter doesn't hear anything soon he will be taking the Roosters u/20's coaching role. Could we please get a real CEO, sack the boards and sign the best candidate before we lose him to another club.

What would lead you to believe that Potter would tell a member of the public the truth? Perhaps a deal already has been done and we're waiting on an announcement due to Sheens' payout and Potter just has to say no, I haven't heard anything. I don't know how far I'd read into comments made by Potter.

Perhaps a deal already has been done and we're waiting on an announcement due to Sheens' payout and Potter just has to say no, I haven't heard anything. I don't know how far I'd read into comments made by Potter.

If he hasn't heard anything from WT, then how does he know it is board squabbling that is delaying an appointment? I know for a fact the board hasn't met since starting the process of searching for a coach, and no recommendation has been placed before any of the boards of the shareholders.

I've got no doubts he is an honest bloke, I just don't think it's as clear cut as what you've said it is. Just my opinion, but I don't think he'd come out and say yes I've signed with the tigers until the club has announced it. The logical response for Mick would be no I haven't heard anything yet.

Don't know mate. There is a board meeting this week, normally on Thursdays but that could change for this decision. All the interviews are done, so it's just a case of the board approving the recommendation of the committee, which to be honest I don't know who they've suggested. All the reports about 'the board throwing their weight behind' a certain coach from the DT are complete crap.

Im concerned the delay the club is taking is giving other teams 6,7 or 8 weeks head start over us, Im sure those coaches of clubs whose teams missed the finals were busy working on season '13 the week following them being knocked out/completing their season.

I'm sure between Georgie and the rest of the current staff Ink, Things are progressing as they possibly would have.
Maybe even a little more vigarously with recent events? Guys re-invigorated after thinking they were no chance under the old coach, Obviously senior squad members have had thier input into a new coaching system.. Who knows, If they got what they want… Could have done wonders for them!! Re-Invented them almost.
Training doesn't get too serious until 1st week of November, I'm sure something will be sorted by then.
On the other side of the equation... If I were an NRL coach in waiting, Had been interviewed for the top job and was in with a good chance. I'd be doing my homework already on how I'm gunna hit the ground running!!
All the potential coaches in question would be doing this for sure... Don't think we'll loose much there.
There are a lot of people in this organisation that have to be confident in our decision and I'm guessing that would take time. From the head of staff, To the Boards to the Sponsors... This is a big thing we have done!!
A change of way of life so to speak..... It Cannot and Will not be rushed!!

My point is the assistants cannot think of and brainstorm ideas, theories, plans **for** the head coach….nor can they do it **without** him.
In a game of centimetres, Im worried giving others weeks start could be a major concern.

Edit: That and the fact as a new coach with new recruits he will have even more on his plate than the current incumbent coaches do

Triple M Rush Hour said Mick Potter done deal.

Heavily incentive based 2 year contract.

Base salary less then $100k p.a

Was agreed on the weekend and they don't know why it hasn't been announced

I'm listening to the rush hour on triple m and they said that potter deal is done it was done on the weekend and that he will be the lowest paid coach in NRL, but he has signed for as little as 5 figure deal with incentives, so he could earn 6 figures if we win a certain amount of games or make semis or the GF
