I saw a 16 sec clip of them at training and can confirm for certain that they all look bigger, faster, stronger, fitter, better reflexes, more skilful, better defenders, better ball handling skills, more agile, more flexible, can jump higher, duck quicker, kick better.

Top 4 no doubt

Hopefully endless sessions of catching the ball and keeping it in their hands…...............................

Learning the key for Wests Tigers as pre-season returns

From the experienced campaigners to those beginning their first NRL pre-season, Wests Tigers players say the focus for them is learning under new Head Coach Michael Maguire.

After narrowly missing the top eight last season despite a number of eye-catching results, Wests Tigers players know that the squad is capable of delivering in the year ahead, but are determined to ensure that they're growing on and off the field.

For them, that learning will be the key to improving again in 2019.

"We're just wrapping up our second week now and it's been a lot of work switching between things on the ground and parts of our conditioning," Elijah Taylor reflected.

"Our testing has all gone really well, so it's important we improve our foundation on that — especially knowing we're going to be tested again before the Christmas break.

"For me, it's about improving the little things in my game and every time I do my testing. Those little things go a long way to helping the culture at our club, I think.

"As a team, we have to help the younger players improve so we can be one strong unit and improve as a team.

"Every time we go in to pre-season, we have to learn something," he said.

"If we don't, we'll be stale and won't improve going in to the season.

Now in his seventh full-time pre-season, reigning Dally M Halfback of the Year Luke Brooks echoed the thoughts of the co-captain as he looks to build on a strong 2018.

"The more pre-seasons you have, the body just gets used to it all," Brooks said.

"For the new boys coming in and those younger guys, they have to learn how to manage their fitness and keep on training and getting fitter.

"I think as a team we were upset with just missing out on the top eight last year.

'This season, we have to learn from the past and build up what we have learnt — both in the things we go through as a team but also what we can see as individuals."

Pre-season will ramp up another gear over the next month as training intensifies leading in to the Christmas break, with only Esan Marsters missing from the full-time squad that includes a number of fresh faces and new recruits.

The New Zealand international centre, who worked closely with Maguire in their recent Test series against England, will return from his break in the coming weeks.

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has wasted no time getting into the swing of things at the club’s Concord headquarters. And by all reports he’s been well-received by the Tigers playing group. The great news for the Tigers is Josh Reynolds is injury-free and setting himself for a big season. Maguire plans to draw on the rich history of Balmain and Wests by inviting a number of legends back into the Tigers fold. Champions like Steve Roach, Benny Elias, Noel Kelly and Tommy Raudonikis will all be welcomed. Via foxsports

Inviting benny is a little like inviting Ivan Milat to a high school reunion. Or a rapist. To be fair to benny, he didn't brutally murder the club, but he did brutally XXXX it

Wests Tigers annual Christmas toy drive is back again in 2018, with Members and fans having the opportunity to support those spending the upcoming holidays in hospital.

As we all look forward to Christmas and time spent celebrating with families and friends, Wests Tigers are asking all of our fans, Members and community partners to take a minute to think of the children and their families who will unfortunately be spending their festive season in hospital.

Thanks to our community partner WestConnex, Wests Tigers have teamed up with Liverpool Hospital to spread some joy this Christmas by hosting this toy drive.

We encourage everyone to purchase a gift donation the players can deliver to the children and their families in the lead up to Christmas.

In addition to this, Picton & District Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank will be collecting gifts on behalf of Wests Tigers. Those located in this area can deliver a gift to the branch located at Picton Mall, which will be collected by Wests Tigers and hand delivered by players to the kids at the hospitals.

Please join with us in this appeal and help us deliver not only toys but some smiles this Christmas. Your support is much appreciated.
