I'm still none the wiser if Latu can play or not. Why wouldn’t benji have Galvin in the first half and Latu in the second?
Latu needs to find his voice
Was waiting for Latu to pull the trigger a fair few times … but we were getting heavily outmuscled in the forwards 1st half. I think our halves play changes drastically if we were on the front foot

I do agree with you though, I think 40 mins with Latu being the dominant half in the 2nd half would have been good for him.. still have no idea if he’s good enough

I thought sakaru and the young 21 stood out most. Kit played well second half. Latu should have been rested if we were just parading energizer bunny. Matumua is not up to it and should leave if he actually has talent. I thought first half defense was really average and concerning. I hope benji and the staff were playing poker today.

Jack Todd and Cassius Tia for the Dogs were sensational.

No one on our team made a case for first grade minutes except maybe Tristan Hope, who I think showed could do a job off the bench if needed.

I thought Kit was good in the 2nd half, Galvin and Luai going to be great together, both will create so much indecision for defense. Tino Tavana could be anything. Solo Saukuru is a talented lad, gets put on his back too much for mine.

Anyway, entertaining game for a reserve grade match.

Meaningless game
Our 2 first graders Galvin and Skelton only played 1st half
And last 30 mins we didn't even have our reserve spine playing
Liked a bit of Broederlow
Yes Galvin didn't use Latu much but can't see where he fits in
Not 6 or 7 or dummy half .So where ?
A big no to the Johannssen Bros and Sukkar and Lobb
Yep it was a meaningless game. Some decent defence efforts but feel like the same issue every year. Our players just look smaller and get knocked over so much easier then the opposition.

Need to drop a few from the top 30. Not up to it.

Fair dinkum every bloody thread is snidest going back and forth with someone with an exclamation mark for extra emphasis and laughing at their replys. This is not how adults should act. Do you know what the word "civilised" means? Try it sometime. I know 15 year olds who behave better and you're a grown man.

Tidy and solid trial.

Biggest issue I see is we looked soft around the ruck in the 1st half. Same old issue.

Players of note:

Skelton: made huge difference with runs starting the set.

Feledy: terrible defender, always grabbing. Shouldn't be near 1sts until this improves.

Galvin: kicking game, both long and short, looks much improved and he looked organised on the right where it always looked messy when he was there last year.

Kit: like the bigger frame, I think he looks very decent in both pushing through the tackle and impactful tackling, one of the few to be so.

Saukuru: bigger than some of our props and classy ball movement. Surely he's ahead of feledy come start of season??

Overall, really solid effort throughout, never got especially messy as some trials do. Enjoyed the game.

Final note: Andrew Voss has to be muted. His enthusiasm is so grating and he gets obsessed and judgy. Just call the plays and stop with the silly stuff, no one finds you funny.

I don't know how every beefs up every year except the WT. Small under size team every year right across the park.

Only a trial game but for me the noticeable difference is again the line speed in defence. Dogs systems have flowed through to all the players and no matter who is on the field they get in your face. We just don’t have any line speed and sit there waiting for them in defence. Makes me nervous

Feledy shouldn't be in the top 30. If his defence is still this ordinary as well as not having a big frame, I can't seem spot for him into 2026.

True about Voss but he's twice as good as Kevin Walters. Who decided to sign him as a commentator? Jeez rather listen to two cats fighting.

Go back and watch it.

I know who he is.

Great pass at the end btw. Ruined any chance of scoring.

He's not good enough.

Zero missed tackles.

I'm not here advocating for Tim Johannssen, but don't make stuff up.

He is what he is, a hard working, very fit toiler outside our top 30 squad. If he is in out top 17 we are in trouble. However, if injury strikes and we need to call on him for a game or two he will do his role to level expected of a player rated 31 to 35 in our squad.
