I do like Benji, and obviously really want to see him succeed. But I always get a tad nervous when he seems to pick some of his favourite players because they have trained hard during the off season. Picking AD at half and leaving Latu on the bench. I don't get it. It's like he is trying anything to get Adam into the team.
12 months ago he picked Alex Lobb and he was going to be the high flying try scoring winger because he looked good at training. Well that hasn't aged well.

Thought Latu was very plain last week. Early kick up the pants??
 
Only one way to find out who can step up without it costing too much damage - test them in a trial. It's not like we can afford to risk our strongest due to good depth.

Didn’t he already get that for coming back overweight. Must be his stocky build coz he still looked a bit over to me. But a bigger worry to me was that he played like he really wasn’t that interested.

It will be very obvious what has not happened at training.

There’s 6 players who haven’t been named but all at the least will be there round 2 .
I’d say the opposite . The issue is it’s all too familiar ,not there’s no depth .
 
I don't buy for a second that all 6 of those players are injured.

We have won 3 spoons in a row, we are not a top 4 team that can afford to rest seasoned stars.

We need all the minutes available to gel as a team in a live game scenario before round one kicks off.

The team that's been named is a waste of time and effort, nobody will see the ball outside Douhie, Galvin and Toa ! They are all supreme hogs !

I would have rather the kids play again this week rather than this absolute dross that has been dished up !!!
 
Most of these make sense to me
Bula, Turuva, Laui, Olam have all come off injuries so no point risking them in a trial

Hunt off the bench given he played Saturday

Douehi at halfback makes sense given Laui is out and having 2 19 yr olds start in the halves if Laui is out isn't a great idea - Douehi has plenty of nrl experience in the halves

Klemmer is the interesting one and as soon I heard him not picked it was either injury or he was leaving.

If there is any truth to this rumour and Klemmer does depart, you would think Richo has something up his sleeve ?
I wouldn’t be surprised if we do a straight swap Klemmer for Francis Molo. Klemmer a better more reliable defender, Molo would offer more impact.
The rumour was we have to pay Klemmer 800k for season 2026 if he plays the required 14 games for us this season.
You can never believe everything you read, so that may or may not be true, but if there is any truth to it, we would be crazy to pay an ageing Klemmer that type of money in 2026.
