Pressure Mounts on Marshall to make his call

I think Benji may have been offered another year if they could have offloaded Reynolds - we can't have them both. When Reynolds baulked at going to the super league ( only recently according to The Pom) that was the writing on the wall for Benji.
Our cap is a disaster and I believe is the cause of a lot of the frustration with players and coach.

We should have had made it clear when he come back, you are here for one year as a back up, but we kept feeding his ego and picking him in the starting team, giving him another year, and another year when clearly he was done, he needs to realise he is not at NRL level anymore

Really silly point. He WANTS to play for us again but the club has said they don't want him, how is that at all disloyal to join another club? Good on him for wanting to keep playing, I think it shows Benji exactly for what he is: someone who loves playing the game.

True class act for so many to come to his defence.

Wasn’t the club harping on about closing the leaks this past offseason...
It would seem there’s a mole doing dirty deeds. No way would the club leak a story such as this because it does nothing but put them in a bad light.

Does it really?. A club tapping a player on the shoulder? Every club , every year does it. I think handing out these one year contracts to players well past their best sheds a poor light on the club. And delivers poor results.

And this is what started this problem, we gave him 2 years too many already, enough is enough, and if Benji can't handle it tough, he can go sook with the other blokes who are scared of getting dropped.

It's not about his quality, it's about mocking him and the stupid bravado of how good it would be to play him and expose his defensive weaknesses when we've never been good at doing that (except when Benji's in form). Just the level of contempt for Benji is really weak. Why would anyone want to play for us? Rubbish admin, rubbish facilities and fans who bag out the club's best players. Again, I get that Benji's not the same player he was, but there's no reason for the animosity on here towards him. Totally unjustified, he hasn't said anything except apparently that he wants to keep playing for us. And he still cops crap on here.

I think it is very important to show Benji the respect he deserves for his contribution to this club. No other individual player has attracted fans and promoted interest in the club like Benji has. It sends a very bad message - regardless of how individuals feel about him - to other players and the NRL community at large. This has to be handled in a professional manner as we already have bad form in this area and It would be stupid to make the same mistake again.

Marshall is entitled to end his career as he sees fit. If that means another year or two with another club then that’s up to him and his manager. But this should not end in a circus. His departure from WT should end in a dignified manner by all parties.
Personally I will feel disappointed if he does not play his last game in our colours but then “that’s life”.
