Prince released by Titans

As Dave Taylor is a former halfback maybe he will take over Prince's spot now that he is with the Titans.

Just reported before on Channel 10 that Prince's contract is being shared 50/50 by the Broncs and the Titans and that it was for $200k for both clubs for the first season

so 100k each? I don't find that fair as he wanted out

No, 200k each I think he meant. I don't think a player with the profile and caliber of Prince would be on 200k a year

BRISBANE Broncos have confirmed the signing of former Gold Coast skipper Scott Prince on a two-year contract, ensuring the 32-year-old halfback will end his NRL career in Queensland.

Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin was adamant Prince, who was released from the last year of his contract with the Gold Coast, wouldn't get a rails run into the Broncos run-on team.

"I'm happy with the guys we've got here. He (Prince) wanted that challenge. I wouldn't have replaced anyone we've got here for him," he said.

"It will make the competition healthier and will make them fight harder for their spots. Wherever anyone ends up I think we'll be a stronger football team and that's the only reason I made the decision.

"(To get a start) Scott will have to be better than the guys we've got here."

Peter Wallace is the Broncos current no.7 while Corey Norman played most of the 2012 season at five-eighth.

Griffin said the deal to sign Prince had not been about money for either party, leaving the Broncos room to move under their salary cap.

"My job is to make our club a bit stronger, and I think, by bringing Scott Prince here, that will help," he said.

"There's obviously a couple of negatives with it, some people will feel a bit uncomfortable, but I don't think that's a bad thing at the moment."

Yep Stripes your right

I watched a fair few of the Broncos games last year and I wasn't impressed with Wallace. I think this is a smart signing by Griffin.

If Griffin is serious about Prince not getting straight into the team then he's a dead set muppet. The Broncos were totally useless in the halves even when they were going well. Hunt and Norman have failed to come on and Wallace is average at best. Prince is the best half at the club by miles now.

It's pretty amazing that a guy who suffered two season ending injuries may very well end up playing 300 games in the NRL. Good luck to him.
