He would be a very good Rugby league player IMO, but doesn't suit what we need, he is too similar to Benji.
As a convert from league to union myself, I used to think no one could tackle in rugby, until I played rugby and realised they all miss tackles cause it is harder to defend in rugby (in the backs anyway) due to wider channels and greater angles and more often than not on the back foot or stationary defending. The league converts all struggled with defence in rugby, conversely most rugby players that have come across have had very little problems with defence.
Cooper's defence would be fine. He will do well, but not for us, and he wont come cheap.

Not 100% sure but didnt Smoking Gun say yesterday that the club wasnt in financial trouble???

In saying that i wouldnt touch Cooper AT ALL... The money he would want, we could get someone 100 times better who is proven in the NRL...

Name one club with both halves on well over 1/2 a Million... There aren't any!!
Even Pearce wouldn't be in our price range...
You need one Dominant and one to play second fiddle.
Benji has been playing Dominant for so long that a second fiddle half will be our only option.
Lui was getting there but he has gone, Until we breed another super star...
I feel we will only have makeshift halves (Unless we get a cheap one somehow)

Both Cooper and Beale can't tackle and are prone to too many errors each game. We have enough qualified players at the Tigers who are paid to do that?

The only players from rugby anyone from league should look at are Digby Ioane and Will Genia
I rate Genia's running game as good as Thurston's and from me thats a big wrap

I never said we should. I merely put the question out there as this is a FORUM and to initiate discussion. If you look up the definition of a forum you'll find it says a place where people can exchange ideas and talk about issues. If you don't like to exchange ideas and have a sensible discussion with people who have similar interests to you then maybe this isn't the place you should be spending your time.

This is a really dumb thread , after all the speculation we have had why would you want to even bring it up about making a move to this overated Rugby player .
So what do we do ? Pay massive overs to an untried player in league just because of his past reputation and in the process have to release a couple of our up and comers to accomadate him.
Wouldn't want him anywhere near Concord…
