Queeenslander's should be ashamed

I do agree that there was some grubby tactics in the tackles with elbows to the face on the man on the ground coming from a lot of the QLD guys. I also wonder how Justin Hodges can be such a good sledger when he struggles to put two words together in interviews….

Nonetheless, I think it is too easy to blame the refs. They were NOT the reason they lost. If NSW had played with more composure they would have pulled it out of the fire. It was just like watching the Tigers play. They choose the wrong play at crucial times. Going wide when in field goal position, kicking dead, not kicking out on the full etc.

Anyone else the trip that Thurston tried on Dugan in the 32nd minute?

At least you've admitted you're biased. Not that I'm sure if such a thing as a biased valid opinion exists, but least you can admit it. And no, I'm not being sarcastic.

It was very much like a tigers game….they played awful, but hung in there....and bombed away to the FB all day......it was scarey!

I was thinking the same thing. Except NSW had a set play on the line.

We (NSW) had this game and lost it. Plain and simple

Justin Hodges = Dumb as dirt.

Classic example being proven in this portion of Adrian Proszenkos article in League HQ this morning. Regarding the tackle whereby Farah had his head slammed into the ground….

"Hodges, who was cleared to make his 21st interstate appearance after overcoming a foot injury sustained while bicycling in camp, appeared to be one of the Maroons yelling "concussion!" in the hope the inspirational hooker would be forced off."

You'd think he'd be in strife if Farah did in fact have concussion after the tackle. But it doesn't dawn on that fool.

Yeah, Saw that attempted trip - ordinary. But don't mention it again, QLDers will get upset and we don't want that.

Amazing what short memories people have.

Gallen, Bird and Scott were out of control with the niggle and the cheap shots last series.

But you know what, most Queenslanders dont give a rats, get on with it, its Origin ffs.

Harden up.

I've gotta say, that NSW should have slotted that field goal to take the lead with 10 to go. Just dumb. However, having said that, I do think that the rub of the green as far as the refereeing went, was with the Queenslanders. And I'll also add, that I believe that it is NSW who have more improvement in them.
Qld are not the team they were 5 years ago, that's for sure.
I'd certainly be ditching Hopoate for Alex Johnson, and if the other Morris is ready, I'd bring him in for Toupou who I thought looked very slow.
Special mention to Tamou. He's been on my hate list for ever, but fair dues - he was really good in his first spell last night.
Very disappointed in Fafita. Why can't he just run onto the ball instead of standing there like a dummy and trying to run once he has the ball in his hands?
Apart from that, not the best game I've ever seen, but very entertaining. Blues in Melbourne by 10!

be warned though as it is full of swearing but it is dead set hilarious and so bloody true.

Ps. Hodges is a gruuuuubbbbb !

After settling down I can say …..seriously one sided refereeing
What a rort!
The return of Barry Gommersal.

The first try (no try ) , using the video ref to make a non try related miss , the less than 3 minutes later not using it , head high on Slater

Both teams copped it bad call wise

Qld were still the better side on the night

For some reason I can't work out your point. about non try related miss.

Secondly, it was Pearce that was getting checked for a broken nose from a high shot.

And what was Slater doing with his grubby elbows in the back of Morris when he was laying motionless on the ground?

In Slaters defence the tackle wasn't completed

They checked to see which hand it came off first because if it was the NSW player it would of been accidental off side

you don't usually get away with tackling with your elbow.
At least we should be thankful that the usual head buts from Nate Miles were not in use on wed night.

Qld are nowhere the team they were and Nsw did More to cause the loss than qld did with the stupid errors they made. The big moment was when Thurston decided to take the long distance goal attempt, it showed that they had almost conceded that they could not score, any other way. Thurston has never been a long kicker and the moment he took that decision showed something that the earlier teams would never do, Panic!!!
There was never a chance he would get the distance and Nsw was always going to get possession back.
The cracks that were showing in the Qld team last year , were showing again , but with so many errors and the lack of possession , Nsw were never going to beat them , or anyone else
The errors can be addressed and the team should be heartened by the fact that they will not only get better , plus the return of Gal and even more importantly Jmoz, plus the inclusion of possibly Mansour will be a big plus, Cordner hasn't stepped up in Origin and neither has that waste of space Hopoate and Toupou.

The bloke that I was really worried about was Morgan, and while he didn't get a long time on the field , I was surprised that he was so ineffective. Like DCE in his Origin stints he was not much to be worried about and qld are going to have a lot of problems when Thurston and Cronk go.
Congrats to Robbie and Woodsie with over 100 tackles between them they contributed plenty and the tackle on Farah should have been on report any day of the week. ( Hope he's back for no 2) While the tackle on Thurston was completely on his back and he was never in a dangerous position.
Nsw have to get more Mongrel in their tackles in the next two games as if it's going to be allowed, we need to be as grubby as miles, Thaiday and Smith usually are. And in game three if we are well ahead I hope someone takes out their main grub, That hasbeen Hodges.
I'd rather be in their position with a win, but it doesn't take a genius to see that they are no longer the team they were and if the possession problem is addressed, they probably will be beaten in the next two games, oh and once again, thanks to Inglis for showing up and while the excuses have been rolled out for him, it was just another time in the last couple of years that Morris has kept him out of the game, (this time with help from Pearce)
Bring on game 2

Some really good points in your full post, most of it one eyed but good points all the same.

This one though is why we hate NSW, the arrogance lol.

Your halves can barely string a pass and a field goal attempt together, now all the experts are talking guys like Maloney and Soward again.

DCE and Morgan will be a killer combination but judging their Origin worthiness on the back of a utility role they are playing off the bench , well yeah like i said the arrogance.

Can only go on what I've seen
I thought I was pretty fair (I hardly mentioned Nsw best player, , Inglis) lol
But I did mean what I said , that long range kick from a player that has never been a long distance player , was panic and an admission that they could cold not score.
The cracks are there!

Hey ck… I woke up this morning and thought I better check how I feel.

Yep, nup... Nothing to be ashamed of up here. Still proud we belted you blokes!

Come off the grass mate!

Arrogance was invented in QLD - just listen to Smith, Slater, (yes I did turn up) Inglis, etc. It oozes out of their skin.

Laugh it up - the end draws nigh. Lol
