Katoomba is a very interesting place, shop there every weekend and it's got a strange duality about it. Get up there early and you see all the tourists and retirees getting out and about and the place is friendly and bustling. Go later afternoon it's a lot quieter and the drug addicts are out and about having woken up from their meth induced comas.

Just joking. Love the Blue Mountains. Just spent a weekend at The Observatory guest house just out of Katoomba - great live music scene in Katoomba Friday and Saturday night
